This is the first LeapReader book set, that I have purchased for my nearly 4 year old daughter. She absolutely loves the learning games and the activities at the end of each book! Each book focuses on one of the vowels, A-E-I-O-U and the sixth book is a review book. We have been reading them and playing the games included together. I am happy she is having fun while taking the steps to learn the vowels and how to read simple books. This is a great and inexpensive and fun learning tool!
These books are great! I was skeptical at first that they were not as good as the website says they are, unti children started using them. I am completely sold on these books. My 3 year old can even use them.
My granddaughter, age 6, lives in a bilingual family, so of course she's bilingual. Sine they all live abroad, her English speaking Mother was looking for reading and writing tools because of the lack of English studies available to her children. Now my granddaughter returns home from school looking forward to her Leap Reader books. It's such a fun reading and writing tool that little supervision and no motivation is required for her to learn. Now if I she can just get her Father to put the Leap Reader down.
Great product so far. You have to download the audio for the books, so they will work with the Tag Reader. I think in this day and age there are still alot of people who don"t have access to computers much less internet. It would make it difficult for them to use if they received for a gift. The site was easy, but I am used to computer syncing products. My Grandson loves it. Sits with his mom and likes to read along. 3 1/2 y/o. Be sure to slide device don't stab it on the words.
This is great for our 4 year old. She is excited to use it and learn how to read. It was exactly what I was looking for.
I am using the Tag phonics system to asist me in homeschooling my daughter. This was the first set of the series that I used with her and it has helped so much. She loves that a mini-reward for reading each page on her own is to be able to hear the sound effects on each page and the activities at the end reinforce the concepts being practiced. I recommend this series highly and look forward to moving on to the second set once we are ready.
This was a gift for my 4 year old niece and I have heard that she's using it a LOT. She already had the Tag pen so she knew how to use these books with it. I think it was a great purchase for a very reasonable price.
The learn to read phonics is best for getting pre-readers engaged with reading. it fosters facility with holding a pen and a book and focusing. Don't get over invested in actual reading skills. It is better for the children to have fun while gaining familiarity with letters and sounds. My very active grandchildren who don't sit still for anything for very long stay engaged with these books for up to 45 minutes at a time with one or two short breaks in between.
My daughter is 4 and is already starting to read. These books and the Leapfrog product helps her with learning her sight words and more. I would highly recommend these books and this product to anyone who's child is ready to learn how to read.
My 5 year old already has the LeapPad2 and she enjoys it immensely!! We never leave home without, so we were excited to get an additional Leap Frog product. This is not as easy to set up as the LeapPad2 and although we purchased the Volume 1 bookset the LeapReader wouldn't read the set. We eventually had to call LeapFrog Customer Service and they weren't helpful at all...we spent a lot of time on Christmas morning trying to get this together, eventually it worked but only on ONE of the six books we purchased. Not giving up hope on Leap Frog, we'll continue to try to get the other books audio to work with the LeapReader. I believe that once we get everything up and running, this will be a very valuable tool for our child.
