Each side of the buttonhole is sewn in the same direction, creating beautifully balanced buttonholes. Automatic Tension This system ensures stable stitch quality, whatever type of fabric is being used. Automatic Presser Foot Pressure Control The amount of pressure exerted on the fabric by the presser foot against the feed dogs is automatic. Sew from the lightest weight tricots to the heaviest denim, without making presser foot adjustments. Extra-High Presser Foot Lifter Offers more clearance, which is needed when placing multiple layers of bulky fabric under the presser foot Free Arm Provides professional results and easy access to cuffs, collars, pant hems and other difficult-to-reach areas Automatic Stitch Length & Width Automatic optimal settings for length and width can be overridden to personalize length choice. Center Zigzag Taper When tapering with the zigzag stitch, the stitch tapers to the center, not the left or right. This provides a more attractive look when tapering into or out from a point. Automatic Tacking Stitch Function Tie-off decorative stitches with just a push of a button. With 4 tiny tacking stitches the start and end of the pattern is reinforced. This ensures quality stitching and prevents unraveling. Automatic Tie-Off Function This function reinforces the start and end of seams for stronger stitching. Automatic Reverse Push the conveniently located Automatic Reverse Button to sew in reverse and reinforce the stitch. Sewing Speed With a maximum sewing speed of 750 stitches-per-minute, projects can be sewn quickly. DC Motor Provides instant start up and stop with no casting, for accurate and precise stitch placement Automatic Bobbin Winding Clutch Needle bar automatically disengages when winding the bobbin, making bobbin winding safer 6-Segment Feeding System This is a specially designed feed dog that ensures the fabric is picked up and supported from the front of the presser foot to the rear. This makes for much more accurate fabric feeding. Box Feed This is a feed dog motion that moves the feed dogs in a box motion, rather than the historic arc motion. Box motion assures perfect feeding throughout the entire feed process, as the feed dogs are always in perfect and equal contact with the fabric and presser foot. Heavy Duty Metal Frame The internal skeleton of the sewing machine. This rigid support holds all the mechanisms in perfect alignment for perfect, skip-free sewing. Direct Drive The needle bar is geared straight from the motor, rather than from a drive bar across the machine. This makes the machine more powerful and durable. Thread Cutter Located on the machine for precise thread cutting, eliminating the extra step of cutting thread with scissors Snap-On Presser Feet Easily change presser feet without a screwdriver Soft-Sided Dust Cover Keep the sewing machine free of dust and debris while not in use On Board Storage Have easy access to accessories while sewing Thirteen Needle Positions The position of the needle can be adjusted for individual projects including inserting zippers, cording and topstitching. 25-Year Limited Warranty 25-year limited warranty including 25 years on head, five years on motor and electronic components, and one year on belts, bulbs, and attachments. I am 54 years old, been sewing since I was 8 yrs old. I love to sew, but have worked with two wonderful machines. I have a Singer Featherweight and a cabinet model, made in 1952, both Singers. They have served me wonderfully all these years. This winter, I finally broke down and bought a Singer Curvy. I absolutely love it!! It makes mending so much easier. I still intend to use my cabinet model though but wanted you to know how much I love this new machine!!
This machine is very easy to use.
Nice beginner machine, versatile
I have had my Curvy for 3 months now. I love the looks and the features of the machine but feel the quality of the stitches are lacking. It seems to skip a lot of stitches. I have notices the stitches ravel a lot even when back stitched. The stitches just do not seem to lock even when customizing the tension. I have tried using the auto feature for tension and it does not work to my satisfaction either. I have made approx 4 quilts in the time I have had the machine. Yesterday I wanted to work on the current one and the foot pedal does not work. It appears the actual socket on the machine the plug goes into is defective. All in all I am fairly disappointed in the quality of this SINGER product.
Been sewing for almost 40 years - Have sewn on the cheapest to the most expensive of machines. This is by far the worst machine I have ever used. Had to take it in for service after its second use! The top thread guide cuts the thread about every 12" and you have to rethread. The machine doesn't wind the bobbin tight enough and multiple pieces of thread are picked up from the bobbin causing a huge tangled mess under the presser foot. The stitch options don't work. You have to change them and then turn the machine off for it to reset it, etc., etc., etc. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I took it out of the box, and tried to wind the bobbin and it was not working! I've called & emailed Singer multiple times and they've yet to respond. Will return
I bought this about 10 yrs ago. Never been able to sew on it. The needle timing was off. Had it repaired while it was under warranty. I did not use it for a year or so after that and the warranty expired. It happened the first time I used it after that again. Reparing it would cost me as much as the machine did. So I did not bother. "Singer" cost me a machine fee for nothing.
Junk. I used it for a week and it quit working. Don't buy this. Invest in a nice machine. Made cheap and you get what you pay for. Very disappointed in this singer machine.
This product has been a nightmare since I got it 10 years ago. It's just on my last nerve right now. It's so horrible, I fight with it once about every 6 months. Then I give up. It's a sentimental thing that was a special gift. I hate that it's such trash since it was supposed to help me get into my fashion dreams.
I really hate to give it a bad review because I have always had Singer Machines, but this one has not worked well for me at all. I have not been able to complete one sewing project since I got it as a gift last March. Something seems to always be wrong with the tension and it just sews gobs of thread on the underside of the fabric. I use the correct thd. and needles for the material I am using. I just tried to repair some jeans using a needle for that purpose with heavier thd. for denim and it was a disaster. The thd. all balled up down around the bobbin and I had to unscrew the plate to cut everything out. Any suggestions, I would really like to get to sewing some nice xmas gifts and things for myself and home. Thank you very much!
