I like the machine ,it is very easy to use . work's great .
Works perfectly. Shipped safely and quickly. I'm very glad I bought this Serger. Looks brand new. Contains all the parts and manuals. Excellent product. Great Deal. I use it for professional seams. It's a great addition for anyone who loves to sew and wants a clean edging. This is not a regular sewing machine. It is in addition to a regular sewing machine. It works on stretch fabric, sews only in one direction. Trims the edge of the fabric and protects the edging from fraying.
It was brand new looking even though it was remanufactured. Looked great, and worked like a champ. Love my new machine and can't wait to start teaching my kids how to sew.
Got it really fast but still have not used it
Packaging, precision... Works perfectly. I love it!
Always wanted a serger. and since I've had the very best results from Walmart's refurbished computers and other electronics over many years, I decided to give the remanufactured serger a whirl. Good decision. Brother's included instructions were seriously not the best. My time spent learning to 'thread' was extensive and a little frustrating, but I went online and watched couple videos up close and personal and got it done! Love love it. So far straight sewing with the serger is awesome and fast, but it appears my learning curve on doing literal "curves" is yet to be achieved. Just shared with a friend that I saw online that you can use the serger to make quickie quilts. Who knew? I just thought it would allow me to finish off all seams to stop fraying.
This serger works perfect, so long as you thread it correctly. Everybody says how the manual is outdated and they had to watch videos. For me it was the opposite - the videos did show how to thread it BUT they don't show the correct order for this machine. My upperlooper thread kept breaking and I worked to fix it for an hour. I was about to give up when I pulled out the manual and figured out the order in which you need to thread the machine. First is #3, then #4, and so on (see manual). You MUST follow this exact order or it won't work correctly. Once I got it working, I had no further complaints - it is easy to thread, not complicated if you're following the instructions (my issue was just user error and I bet you most complaints are about the same issue). The instructional CDs that come with it are outdated but again, there's a lot of YouTube content related to this machine so it was no big deal to me. PROS: -It comes with 2 extra feet (saves you $) -Manual shows correct way to thread and troubleshooting - Very efficient machine, works well once you're all set - Amazing deal for the price. If you're looking for a 4-thread serger, look no further! I wouldn't spend more money unless I was buying a 5-thread serger with overstitch conversion. - Did not see any scratches, serger came oiled and prepped - ready to go. CONS: -If you're new to sewing with a serger, you are very likely to struggle with the threading part. Do watch some YouTube videos BUT make sure to pull out the manual and follow the order of threading in the manual, not the videos. -It did not come with the 4 spools of thread that were mentioned in the item description but everything else was there. Overall, I say this is a gem and more than worth the invesment. Good brand and good quality of work. I couldn't be happier!
It was locked up and wouldn't rotate. Returned it to the store and had to buy another one at the store paying $50 more from a model on the floor. This was a gift so its quite embarrassing to give them something that didn't work and had to let them know that it was refurbished.
When I received this, I set it up. The wheel wouldn't turn. I would never buy another refurbished machine! I returned it the very next day, and bought a new one.
I was so excited to find such a good deal on a serger, but after I got it was soon disappointed. I bought my first refurbished Brother in February. First thing I had to do was change the needles because they were bent. This was after watching tons of YouTube videos trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I finally got it to do basic seams, but I couldn't gather or do a rolled hem. I decided to exchange it for another refurbished one. Why buy a serger that won't do what it's supposed to. The second came and worked fine for a couple days until I tried to gather. The lower Looper shaft broke and was causing it to bind up. I just took that one back to the store and traded it for a new one. I had to pay the difference, so no more good deal. I am hoping that I will have better luck with this one. I would say it's hit and miss with these refurbished ones. Good luck!
