I did not need the Explore because I have several other die cutters. BUT, what fun it is! This machine cuts intricate patterns more precise than others, there are several comparison youtube's that prove that. There is an extra slot to place a pen if you'd like to draw or use the slot with their scoring pen and find your 'bending' lines with ease (especially helpful with the popular cards-in-a-box!) You HAVE to be online to use the software program that runs this machine; the software program is a work in progress. You can link up Cricut cartridges you own for cutting and this program immediately separates the design onto the different colored mats you will need - all you do is resize and hit the button that says 'cut'!! There are many free images and projects available that you can use in the software, you can also import something you've created or scanned in. I've attached a photo of a box card made using a SVGCUTS.com file. Love it!
The machine itself is a lot more than we expected. It does so much, and is so easy to use. Set up was quick, but a little confusing putting it on our computer. We still are not sure about our free online artwork, or how the online subscription works. My daughter is in middle school and was able to play around with it on her own, and managed to find some to try it out with. We can't wait to see what it is capable of and we are sure we will be very happy with this purchase for a very long time. I am sure once we get to sit down and browse through the creative center, we will be even more excited. I am glad it also accepts cartridges. So far we have made cards, and they turn out very impressive. The is something to have fun with! It is much quieter than my niece's older Cricut.
I've had my cricut Explore for just a week but I have already cut several projects. The Design space is easy to understand and the Circut learning emails with video are a great help. I highly recommend this machine to everyone.
This machine is wonderful and easy to use. I think the hardest part is coming up with projects to cut and create. With this machine you can cut anything your imagination comes up with.
Be patient when you first start with the explore! I wanted to get rid of it when I first used it. There is no manual so make sure you watch videos about the explore. Now that I have played around with it a while. I love it!!! It writes so smooth and cuts just as smooth. A must have for scrapers!
Beyond my expectations. I just love that you can cut SVG. files and the write feature is awesome. Easy setup and I have already loaded and cut a lot of SVG. files. I really like that you don't have to figure out the depth and speed for your material anymore like you did with the previous Cricut's. I have the original Cricut Expression and the Explore is soooo much better!!!
I am so happy I was able to purchase my new Cricut Explore! I always go online to look at the other products on the market to compare and evaluate. I read the reviews of the different crafters to see how the product rates with them. I had such mixed reviews with this product. I really disliked the negative comments some people were making. The bottom line is to purchase what is right for YOU! I have enjoyed my Cricut Expression, and my gypsy. I have found them all to be user friendly and love the way they help me create beautiful items for my family and friends. The Cricut Explore is easy to set up and use. Love, Love, Love it!!!
I love this machine! Right out of the box I started crafting. You can go to Youtube and find many tutorials and project ideas as well. My favorite function of this machine is the ability to upload images from googleand other places. I'm a beginner, from a beginners view point I would say it's user friendly and the machine works great. I hope all who try it will be as happy as I have been. I would like to add that I purchased my machine at Walmart. I paid for standard shipping and received it in 3 business day. The price was much less than other places. I paid 249 most others sold for 299.
I love, love, love my new Cricut Explore! I had the Cricut Expression and the Explore is much easier to use! Pros: Easier to use Less guess work - no more guessing which pressure setting, just turn the dial to the material you're using. More quiet than previous Cricut machines. More precise cuts, less tearing of paper. You aren't limited to just Cricut files - you can cut SVG files and much more. Cons: Must be connected to internet to use. Must link cartridges to use them - unlike previous Cricut machines.
I really enjoy this machine. A little piece was broken when I opened it straight out of the box but it doesn't effect it's function (that's why I'm rating it as a four star) I do feel like after spending $300 it should come with a couple markers or just more supply's. I have really enjoyed making crafts with this and can't wait to make more!
