Bought my machine almost 2 years ago and love it. I do use a stand to put my thread on rather than putting the thread on the machine's spool. The class I received at the sewing center where I purchased my machine was very helpful. Would definitely recommend this machine to others.
I got my my Nq1600E as a surprise from my husband. I also have the SE600. I went from a 4x4 area to a 6x10 area. I have certainly falling in love with all the abilities it affords. If you are looking for an affordable unit this one answered so many of my needs.
I wore out my ULT 2002D Brother sewing/embroidery machine and since I had a pretty sophisticated sewing machine already I opted for this straight embroidery machine. So glad I did. The new technology of using a flash drive for the 1600E is a breeze to use compared to the many steps involved with my older Brother machine. With the solid reputation Brother has with their embroidery functions I didn't hesitate to invest in this machine. The ease of operation is great and the stitching of the designs is awesome. I'm still learning but so pleased with my investment so far. I.m anticipating many happy hours of making beautiful embroidered projects. This is a winner of a machine.
There is a season for everything and I bought the brother NQ1300 last year and loved it and decided to buy the NQ1600E this year and learn as I grow. I am making my 5th quilt and just joined a quilting club. Happiness brings Peacefulness

This machine I just recently purchased and have not learned all that it can do, but I do like the speed and I had my machine bumped and it stopped the machine and the needle was still in the down and I turned the machine off because I could not get the needle up. When I turned the machine back on it asked if I wanted to resume with my current design and place. I was like WOW.
Finally time to replace my 10 year old Brother 1250D sew/emb. It did an awesome job, but she was tired after 25 Million stitch count. Decided on the NQ1600 and could not be happier. Many functions similar to my beloved 1250D, but so much more! This machine is budget friendly, has great functions, runs smoothly and gives me NO reason to fuss!
I have created 16 memory pillows and 3 quilts so far with this embroidery machine. It is so easy to use and learn. I purchased all the different sized hoops that are available and have used them all. The stitches look wonderful and every design has come out well. Hooping and changing out the bobbin is easy and makes completing a project simpler for me. Glad I did my research and purchased it. Got one for my DIL for Christmas this year.
This machine keeps tearing up all my projects. I have another brother machine 550d and it does great. I purchased this 2 months ago for the bigger hoop an it's not lining up correcting an off centering all Of my work I'm extremely frustrated an upset that I wasted all this money on a trash machine
I bought this machine ( NQ1600E) after searching for a long time, but I am very regretful. Can't handle even extremely simple fonts cleanly. The very expensive Christmas tree skirt was destroyed by monogramming with this machine. I'm not talking about patterns that are difficult, even extremely simple fonts that come with the machine cannot be embroidered cleanly. Please spend more money and buy professional machines.
