I have two dogs in the backyard, and two more small dogs inside that enjoy digging out on a regular basis. I tried investing in trolleys, but they were easily broken and pulled my fence down a little bit. When I found this, I thought I'd prefer to have an invisible fence, but being tight on money lead me to try this. I couldn't be more satisfied. Within ten minutes, my dogs had learned their boundaries (mostly by sitting on it on accident, or licking it), and within a week they didn't dig the fence line anymore. For the past eight weeks, I haven't even had to turn the electricity on to it. I still turn the line on once a week and "retrain" the boundaries by walking them down the perimeter, but otherwise I have no more escapees and no more trolley. As for a garden, I wouldn't recommend it to keep your larger dogs out. They quickly learn they can step over.
Energizer does not work. Wired, grounded, and connected correctly 2 inches above the ground but will tingle once and not continue working.
