[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my Oklahoma Joe dual-fuel grill with this 5050 in the summer of 2023. It has been an excellent investment. I like the solid construction of the entire grill. I have done a lot of off-set cooking using my own charcoal box with great results. Last fall I added the Char-Griller side fire box & portable table top grill as the side fire box on my 5050 grill for increased smoking capacity. This has worked great as well. The gas side of the grill and burner are both excellent and cook evenly. If I had one request, it would be to increase the gas flame of the grill a little more. But it still gets the job done without a problem. One feature that I'm especially impressed with are the grates. I think they are enamel covered and clean up easily. I was them after every use because I also use them as grates in the oven for making jerkey and other oven uses. I make sure to not scratch them with steel wool or other damaging abrasives so they should last for years. Lastly, I highly recommend buying the Char-Griller cover. It fits perfectly and is better quality than most aftermarket covers. It is made to expand to fit the entire grill with the smoker box attached. After a full year of use, the grill still looks new.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this grill! The side burner is great for starting my charcoal chimney, then heating up a pot of beans. The gas side I use mostly for grilling veggies. Then once the coals are ready the charcoal side, that's is where the magic happens, a nice reverse seared tri tip.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my grill over 10 years and still love it. You can cook with gas, charcoal and even smoke with the added offset smoker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used many grills in my past, this is by far my all time favorite grill. I can cook, and have, entire Thanksgiving dinners on it, the flavors from the attached side burner grill attachment is out of this world, now that I've learned how to use it. I don't use the gas side as much anymore. I'm so glad for my options now, I wouldn't go back if I had to. I'd just make my own first. As long as there's a Char-Griller, why?!?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I buy the grill duo 3 burners, charcoal and smoker all weekends I'm do something on this grill
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this grill since 2015 with added side smoker and have loved every cookout, grill time and smoking experience!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this a couple of years ago and love the dual flexibility of gas and charcoal/smoker!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great grill, so versatile, and with the addition of the smoker box, fantastic. I use it almost every day, all year long.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my Char-Griller 50-50 with side box two years ago. Added grommets for inserting temperature probes. A totally functional gas grill and smoker. Plenty of cooking options. Side burner completes the package. Well built. Replaced two old grills and smoker. Totally satisfied with my purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm on my second Char Griller Dual Fuel, about to purchase my 3rd. This one will have the side smoker attachment as well. My only bugaboo is the life of the gas side fire box, especially the slats over the burners and their mounts, they rust out quickly. I love the grill, especially having the option of either fuel. Nothing beats a Ribeye cooked on the charcoal side of my Char Griller!
