We had a Kingsford big charcoal grill before and my husband wanted to go back to this brand. We have had a Meco before and we are really pleased with these grills. He said it was easy to put together and we have already used it once and will use it again today for Easter. We grill alot and this brand has always held up. I think we will get a cover for it though, since we get all sorts of crazy weather in the Midwest. We highly recommend. And with Walmarts free Site-To-Store shipping, we saved shipping costs of having it mailed to the house. That's a plus. Happy grilling!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such an amazing charcoal Grill which is great for picnics, ballgames, camping, RVing or anywhere people are on the go. It is really well made and very portable too. It has wheels which makes it super easy to carry around. It is a great size grill and can be used to cook for a party easily. It has Adjustable vents in hood and bowl save charcoal and control cooking temperatures, which makes it more convenient. Elevated fire grate and ash dump for better starts, easier cleaning and burnout prevention. Handy folding composite wood side table, which can be used to keep things easily. This is a perfect addition to my backyard.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great features like two side shelves that you can collapse when not in use. A bottom shelf for more storage space. Looks good. And grills good. Food is tasty! Final product is good. But, assembly is challenging. Instructions are not descriptive. Two people with lots of experience took about 2 hours. Too many different screws or not enough screws. Still needed to reassemble some parts after completion.
We have used this grill for over 30 years and have always been pleased. About 12 years ago we could no longer find it in stores so we had to find it on line and order. this is third ordered, second from walmart.com. The quality of this grill is not near what we are use to, very disappointed. Do not feel that it will hold up. Will more than likely order again when this one burns out(bottom of grill) because of ability to raise & lower cooking surface.
The Grill is good & assembly was easy. The Grill had rough treatment during shipping & had several dents in lid. The dents did not penetrate paint, if so I would have returned to get another one. The Grill did not look like the one I ordered, but that was not an issue.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I give this charcoal grill 3 stars because of the hassle of trying to put this grill together. The directions are vague and the number of screws they give you did not match what it should be. The bottom shelf attachment did not go on easily like it should have. Had to bend a few parts to make it stay instead of sliding down. As for the function of this grill, it does the job.
Use for grilling. Would have given more stars except the design changed from my last Meco Americana grill that I used for at least 10+ years. OLD style design the cooking grid rested on a grove on top of grill bowl and met all our needs. The new design has adjustable grill height handles with the adjusters in bowl where the cooking rack rests. These adjusters in the bowl are flimsy and may become a hazard because the cooking rack can fall into the charcoal and cause injury. I did like that the manufacturer kept the ash pan (very important) to me. Makes cleaning a lot easier that tipping entire bowl over for cleanout.
I am missing part 18 from the diagram(lid handle). Everything else went together good and all other hardware was there. I was able to find some knobs in the junk drawer that will hopefully work while I try to get a handle. I do think the lid hinge brackets should have spacers and a better hinge style. I'm giving it a 3 because of missing parts and the hinge/bolt set up. I have not used it yet.
The ad for the grill implies it has fold-out shelves, it doesn't. The grill came rattling around inside the box. The bottom of the grill is jammed into the top in such a manner that they are inseparable. There is no way to get the two halves apart without causing excessive damage to both pieces. Extremely Disappointed.
The grill was damaged when I received it and the bottom piece would not come out of the top piece. I called the manufacturer and they sent a replacement, but the bottom is different and wont work with the other pieces, so Im still without a grill.I had looked for weeks for this grill, finally found it and have had these results
