I purchased this as a Christmas present. It was easy to use. He loves it!
This saw does everything it is suppose to do! It works great, easy to use and easy to maintenance. I have already tightened the chain and looked into how to change the chain later on. Very simple and basic. The battery last very well for the amount of work that was done. Very impressive saw. Used it to trim my Mesquite trees and cut down an obnoxious bush with very thick stems. Cuts from 2" to 4" with ease. Made trimming fun! I am very happy with the price I paid and the quality of the product to do what it says it would! Very happy with this purchase.
My son bought this trimmer for me 4 years a go, because I have to trim a 60ft long and 10ft wise Juniper hedge in my backyard. I have NEVER had a more reliable or BETTER cordless trimmer! It is as Sharp today as the first day I used it! B&D has a real Winner in this trimmer. Batter performance is a 100% to the end of charge! Rusty55
I don't think this was ever meant to be a professional tool, but it works great for the average home yard. I did a lot of pruning..more than I wanted to clean up...and still had plenty of battery. I let the weight of the saw do the cutting and the blade is still good and sharp. I plan to get a lot of use out of this tool. Great for neighbors' limbs overhanging your fence.
This is good product to buy for someone want to take care her own garden. It is easy to use. However, the pole a little too long for me to operate. Overall, I like this product.
I got this to cut vines along a river edge that are too far out for me to get with just clippers. It went right through them. I will need to use it probably once a month to keep the vines in check, but it is easy to use and assemble so it will not be a problem..
I purchased this to trim some small limbs on trees around my house. The purchase was made after a comparison to two similarly priced alternatives --- a manual pole trimmer (saw and rope lopping shear), and a corded electric pole trimmer. In this use case, this tool performs very well. I am more than satisfied. I think in some reviews of this item, folks are comparing this $130-ish tool with a $600 Stihl professional gas powered pole chainsaw. If this is what you are looking for, you will not find it for $130, and you will be disappointed.
everything was in box except Allen wrench and I thought oil came in the bottle provided still can't wait to try it out
We were careful to read the reviews before purchasing this saw. The predominant complaints seemed to be about the short battery life. As a result, I didn't expect to get a lot of cutting done on one charge. I was hoping for at least the 15-20 minutes that appeared to be the norm. In our case, 10 minutes is all I'm seeing. I suspect that the people getting an hour out of their battery are either cutting very small branches or that the hour is not really continuous cutting. When the battery is fully charged, the saw cuts very well. It's somewhat heavy (but given that I can't use it more than 10 minutes at a time, this isn't really an issue :) ). It's also awkward at full extension, but so are all pole saws. At full extension it also feels somewhat flimsy but since you just let the weight of the saw head do all the cutting, you don't need to worry about bearing down on it (and, in fact, you aren't supposed to). Just let the chain do it's job and use the pole to control it. If you're trying to use your arms to do the cutting, your chain is probably getting dull. If you plan on doing big jobs with this saw, have a LOT of spare batteries available (a spare will cost you around $40 to $60). With a 4 hour recharge time, you'll only get 20-30 minutes a day with a single battery. Even with the poor battery performance, I like this saw.
I'm usually very happy with Black and Decker tools, but I found this to be heavier than I expected. It does what I need it to do but it's heavy.
