Liked the price. The assembly was quick and easy. We have a freezer and 2 refrigerators and live at the far end of the power distribution grid. So we are off two or three times a year. This is cheaper than losing hundreds of dollars worth of frozen foods.
I've had it for a year now and it works perfect. I have not used it to power the house or an RV or anything else where I've had it running continuously for long periods of time. I have it mounted on a lawn cart and tow it around the property to run power tools, so it generally only runs for about 15 minutes at a time. But it starts on the first or second pull every time and just purrs away as expected. Although I do not use it for long periods of time, I do use it fairly often, once or twice a week on a year round basis. Very Happy.
This product will help more than myself when power is out for a couple days. My family & friends will be grateful as well! Thanks.
The whole experience, buying this from walmart.com, has been great. The ordering was simple. The shipping was quick. The product assembled easily. It fired right up and powered everything I through at it in a test run/break in. A word about the Fedex shipping... The box looked as if it had been through a deep dark place and back. Thankfully, the packaging around the generator kept it from being damaged. Not Walmart nor the manufacturer's fault, so I did not discount the rating that I gave the item. I bought this item for use in constructing an off-grid cabin. During testing, it powered every tool I hooked to it very well. Most tools ran at idle speed. A couple caused the motor to rev for an instant when first started. Overall, I believe this will be just what I need to complete my latest project (cabin). It should also be a useful backup for those extended overcast periods when we might otherwise drain the batteries on the solar system.
HORRIBLE experience with the shipper. Package arrived and was placed OUTSIDE my gate. Almost on the street, and anyone who would care to could have just walked off with it. Additionally ,it was evident that the delivery person picked it up by the strapping on one side of the box, causing the box to tear and rip. The generator on that side of the box where delivery driver dumped it was scratched and dented. I tested the generator's operation and it seemed okay, but I was furious by the shippers carelessness. I don't know yet how the generator will perform, however, it did start up easily and was quite simple for me to attach the wheel kit and get it going.
Received this item broken!!!! So disappointing!! My son had to put time and money on the repairs!! Too big to bring back to Walmart!!
One star due to not as specs indicate. Not 120/240 - - - - - - 120 OR 240. You set a switch for either 120 or 240 volts. Manual specs say four 120v outlets and one twist lock 120v outlet. Has two 120v outlets and one 240v outlet so the manual author never saw the generator. Had the online specs said this I would have kept shopping for another. Can't run my fridge and through the wall 204v AC at the same time with this. Fortunately I have a portable AC I use for my work shed that won't cool my home but keep the heat down. Specs online do not say needs to run on 90 octane gas so my reserve supply is all 87 octane. Should still putt along. Don't know if it actually works yet. Online specs do not say what weight oil (manual with generator says 10/30) and none shipped with it so had none waiting. Generator is shipped with a dry crankcase. I can limp it along for my needs if it works and return if it is DOA.
works fine for about a month and then the carburetor started leaking gas out of the cover and it keeps flooding out and quits running even with the gas feed valve almost closed
First of all, this is not a quality-built piece of equipment. This generator has been running maybe twice since I owned it. From little things let fuel lines dry rotting right away to not producing electricity. Carburetor problems started from day 1. I would not recommend for anyone interested in purchasing a generator.
Generator muffler broke apart at inlet flange after nine months. Tried ordering a new muffler but muffler that came back had small inlet flange, and mount bracket holes did not line up.
