I thought it was a excellent piece of equipment for the price. Used it to cut out fairly intricate patterns on 3/4” plywood and it did a great job with the variable speed. I am a novice and found it easy to use.
the only problem is Walmart don't keep in it in stores the keep the junk ones in the store. had to order it and cost me shipping to get it in a timely manor.
Bought this jig saw for a little project online through Wal-Mart site. Ordering was smooth until checkout. Delivery although didnt do such good job. Item was suppose to be deliver to home that turns out i had to go get it from mailbox. The product has a lot of power and the trigger is such a booster the control of speed makes you feel like a pro. Curve selection is as useful as it is. Great for all around the house improvements. Definitely recommended.
I love the variable speeds, I've had several sabre saws over the years but for the money this is the best one I've come across. It saws like a dream and I love the fact that weight of it is enough to stay on the line when sawing.
My husband bought this jigsaw for me when I was making a baby cradle for a family member. It is light enough that I can handle it comfortably even with the arthritis in my hands. I needed it to cut out stars in the sides of the cradle and it worked perfectly. I have used it several times since then and am very happy with it. I like the adjustable features. I have used it when I wanted a slower controlled cut and also when I wanted it to cut quickly. It is very easy to use and I haven't tried to use it for anything it hasn't been able to handle. I'm sure at some point I will find out it isn't the best tool for some cutting needs but so far I haven't found anything. I have wanted a jigsaw for a while and I am so glad to have one finally. I have several black and decker tools and they are all very good.
The best feature I love about this saw is that it only takes approximately 5 seconds to change blades, and it is extremely easy to do so. It works great for cutting plywood, MDF, partical board, paneling, etc. Surprizingly, it also does pretty well when cutting through 2xs when using longer blades. it's almost like cutting through butter. No bouncing, jumping or jerking. Very, very smooth regardless of cutting speed, yet light in weight. A very large selection of different blades (from scroll blades up to heavy duty rough cutting blades including metal cutters) are available from Black and Decker. Most other brands will fit it as well. Put it this way. I have a jigsaw of another brand that cost upwards of $200.00. This little Black and Decker performs a lot better than it. Great product
This has proven to be a good buy. It is easy to handle and can do scroll work as well as straight line work. The one draw back is it only comes with one general cutting blade and the so called speed adjustments are limited. Regardless it is doing the job I intended for it do.
I'm going to return this tool for a Bosch. I think this tool has plenty power and adequate accuracy, but it's not designed to make delicate cuts and curves. Even with the build-in purpose switch, its cuts are not perfectly executed. But if you are a carpenter or doing some home improvement, this is the right tool. It gets the job done and is at a very decent price. I still recommend it to you. But if you are doing crafting, I would go with a Bosch or Makita jigsaw. Makita leaves very refined edges.
I would give this brand new jewel a 4 out of 5 for all rounder. I ordered it from Walmart (being cheaper than online competition and local market here in Canada). It arrived within a few days. It came with a single T-shank blade. I used it on various types of wood and it really handles very well. Cutting 45 degrees was a breeze (simply slightly unscrew the bottom plate, select angle and screw again. I had to purchase a couple of blades for plastic and metal. Vacuum cleaner attachment is provided but I did not see the use of it for the projects I have made. I made a tools-organizer in the garage and this jigsaw is now occupying a permanent seat on the wall.
I bought this jigsaw recently and have used it twice for light jobs. During second use a retaining ring holding to blade guide in place fell off, rendering the tool useless. Tried a home center to find a replacement ring and none carry one that small. Now I'm stuck. Went on this site to contact support and the "Contact Use" section errors out. If they resolve this quickly, perfect. If not, its a poor design with a simple fail point. Hopefully they'll get it resolved for me
