I have a 24 and a 12 volt B+D drill--both of which I needed a charger for and was about to chuck them both and go back to the electric drills because I wasn't going to buy chargers for each one even if I could find them which I could not. I found the BDFC240 during a computer search and ordered it. It works really well--charges much faster than the originals and has a wall mount design built in which is really nice. I mounted it on the wall so I can always find it. Very happy with the buy.
My 18v batteries have some age and have seen lots of use and recharges. Recharges each to full charge in an hour or less. Worth its value and cheaper that replacement batteries.
this charger is great and charges quickly and keeps batteries charged. if I have a big yard day, I can recharge and re-use batteries over the day with no problem.
This charger is doing exactly what it was designed to do. We tend to forget to do a 24 hour charge monthly on our NiCad batteries, now it is no longer necessary to remember because the float charge built in eliminates the necessity. All we have to do now is remember where we put the charger and battery. ;-)

Super option to replacing a well-liked 3-tool set just because the origunal charger quit.
It seemed the small AC adapter that came with my drill never seemed to fully charge the battery. And it always took a long time for the battery to recover. This charger recharges the battery in a fraction of the time and seems to charge the battery more fully. I should have bought this charger years ago.
I have a 24v BD drill and have had a very difficult time findng a replacement charger AND one that cost less than I paid for the drill! Anyway, considering it was December, everything was quick and easy.
Does what it's supposed to do.
I bought this charger assuming it would charge the lithium battery for my B&D 20V chain saw and my 20V B&D hedger. But it did not fit my battery. This charger probably works fine. I just experienced so much frustration trying to figure out which charger would accommodate my battery. Black and Decker needs to make the charging specifications clear for each piece of equipment and each battery.
