This is the best flashlight I have ever purchased in my life. B & D have put a lot of thought into this product. This light has a very powerful blue-white LED, 300 lumins. I use this light for my bike, and the darker it gets, the better I see with this. It lights up a lane's width about 50 to 60 feet ahead, and it is easy to install (Clamp it on). It is powered by 3 AAA cells that seemingly last forever. Thanks Black & Decker.
I bought it on sale but didn't use it immediately. When I finally used it I loved it. I use a couple times a week, find it a little awkward to hold now & then but mostly very convenient. I love that it has two settings which i think of as super bright and regular light. I read two other reviews and I'm glad I bought mine before reading them as the one review may have discouraged me from buying this light. I've not had to replace the batteries yet so haven't yet had that reviewers experience. I find that for my uses its perfect. occasional looks under the hood of my car which means I can just use the magnet to hold it up and swivel the head into the position I need it at, or if indoors the super bright setting allows me to see in the really deep & dark places and I can clamp it onto something so I have both hands free.
I like the design of this flashlight very much. It is very bright. I am a tradesman and I need light when I'm in closets, attics and crawlspaces. I would recommend it highly in that you can clamp it to a toolbox, shelves even your belt. I was disappointed to see that I had to pay $24.88 in the store. (Walmart) The online store for Walmart has it at $17.55.
I agree that replacing the batteries can be a literal pain for this flashlight. I just wanted to pass along a tip... I used a staple remover as a quasi-pair of pliers, and it worked beautifully. My fingers are not injured and replacing the batteries was a breeze.
The flashlight itself is ok, with ajustable beam and power level. However, to open the battery door is a nightmare. The door has a design flaw. Poping the door open with your finger, finger nail will very easily get caught by door latch and bent. It hurts! Also it's very uncomfortable to hold this flashlight in hand, due to the awkward shape.
