Excellent product. First time I used it we cut several small trees and a lot of branches on one charge. Need to adjust chain, but this is normal. It's a little workhorse and fills in nicely where my gas chainsaw would be overkill. It's a good addition to the tools.
Battery power is the way to go. No more pulling ropes. No more stale gas clogging up carburetors. This saw is larger and heavier than I expected it to be. Slices through a 6X6 like butter. Great for small jobs around the house and farm. Reservoir must be filled with bar and chain oil before using. Buy a quart when you buy the saw. Very satisfied with this saw and will be using it a lot. It also includes a saw wrench that stows away in the end of the handle.
I have a Hart weed eater and a leaf blower. And when I found this. It was a no brainer. It is not a chain saw to go lumber jacking with cutting down 50 foot trees. But for the average job that needs to be done around the house it's great. And it comes with a 4 amp hour battery pack so I was able to use it for a long time. It does have a reservoir with a push button pump to oil the chain. The only thing I wish(listen up Hart was going to give it 4 stars) is that a small starter amount of chain oil should be included. But it worked so well and I had some on hand it was not a big deal.
This chain saw is top of the line. Its very powerful so we have to be ultra careful when operating it. On our property we have a nature preserve in the back of our property and after bad storms we get lots of downed tree limbs. This will make cleanup for us a breeze. I love that its battery operated so I don't have to drag around an extension cord. That makes using this chainsaw very user-friendly. Its also not too heavy which for me being a woman appreciate. It arrived in a well packaged box. I am very pleased with the chainsaw by Hart and look forward to buying some of their other products.
This Hart Chainsaw is cordless with a 20 volt battery and 12in blade. We used it to cut several branches on our back yard tree. It was easy to use and it worked great cutting through branches!
They have flipped the photo with the title so I am going with the photo. I am reviewing the battery. The cool thing about this battery is it is interchangeable with many other Hart tools. I put it fully charged onto my chainsaw and worked for nearly an hour and it was still full of power so I can't tell you how long it would run but for it to go for an hour is quite impressive. Not very heavy and it easily snaps right onto the side. I am a true novice and it was a very easy thing for me to do.
This is nice, light and easy to use! Not all that noisy either (although we still wear ear protection--it is much less noisy than a gas one). No smelly fumes either. You'll need to buy the chain oil before you leave the store or you'll end up going back. Since we ordered it online, we had to make a special trip for the chain oil. Cuts branches fast, easy to carry around. The weight doesn't drag it down to the ground when you're done cutting. Very pleased with this for doing upkeep around the yard. I wouldn't try to cut a big tree down with it, but it cut branches from an inch to five inches EASILY. Very pleased with it!
this little chainsaw is really light weight and easy to use - it could be improved by having an auto oiling added simply because it is easy to forget we cut up downed limbs and cut down a dead tree a great addition for anyone who has trees thet care for
I know my chainsaws. Years ago a major Florida hurricane dropped four huge pine trees on my house roof. I spent weeks sawing up the mess and cleaning up, plus I used up four new blade chains. I never used a chainsaw so much and encountered every possible problem you can run into. We now have battery powered chainsaws and they are super easy to use. This Hart has a nice lithium battery with a handy gauge that displays the battery power charge, a great feature. It is ideal for pruning trees and can cut up to a seven inch diameter branch. You will need to adjust the chain often as they stretch during use. They supply you with a nifty little wrench/screwdriver that is snapped into the rear of the saw body and that is all you need for chain adjustment. The only feature I hate is the chain oiler. It dribbles out the oil once filled up and I only put some oil in right before I have to use it, else you'll have a puddle on the garage floor. Don't think you are a veteran lumberjack with this in your hands, it can cut down trees, but again, no bigger than seven inch diameter. It will serve you well for typical yard usage and you may want to add some extra batteries and additional Hart tools.
2nd time using part of the inside of the chain tensioner melted. Can't order the 7$ part because they no longer offer it for sale and they will not answer back on warranty or any resolution whatsoever. Had most of what Hart sells but will not buy anymore and will make sure everyone I know knows that Hart is a crap company that cares nothing about customers.
