Excellent furnace filters. They reduce allergens and make your home a lot more comfortable. I consistently use these to make my home more allergy free.
Let this filter go 6 months and got a good layer. Proof it works well and I should stick w every 3. We have a cat and two allergy prone kids. This product makes a difference! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was getting 9 allergy shots per week due to my severe allergies. My physician told me to purchase allergy defense filters for my home and to be sure to change them every 2 months. I did my research and found that Filtrete Allergen Defense filters are the best to help with allergy sufferers. You can look at the picture that I attached to see how dirty mine get after just 2 months. These filters are definitely the best! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have lived in a home built in 2000 and have been buying 3M Filtrete filters almost as long. 20x36x1 is an odd dimension, though easily found in bulk at good rates. These are high quality filters which DO reduce the amount of allergans in the air, reduce the amount of dust in the house and reduce potential damage to a large two-zone HVAC system. I use these "moderately" with heating and/or cooling, adding a length of hidden 1" "gasket" material along one edge for perfect fitment so the element remains "airtight," non-moving and is efficient in the ceiling/housing. Never had any issue with maintenance and every filter has been in great shape. Never reached the point of someone coughing/sneezing as an indication a filter needs replacement! No torn or failed elements. Very tough, resilient filters even at the end of their suggested 3-month cycle/life. Thanks! JA [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I recently began using these filters, as I was trying to get the excess dust out of our home. These work wonderfully! Be warned however, CHANGE THEM every three months like you are supposed to or there will not be enough air flow in your system to evaporate the condensation on the coils in the air conditioner and the water will collect in the drain pan and will suddenly one day smell musty and moldy! I suggest vacuum the filters lightly EVERY weekend, and then change them out every three months.
Furnace filters are great when they arrive intact, this one was bent in half from shipping.
Well I had it in for two days and then the light on my heater started blinking again which means it's a clog flutter and it looks clog plus my ant is still hacking her head off sol I'm going to give the health living one a try or do you recommend a washable one the house dose need clean bad this was only in for 2 days [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This looks like you are getting 4 filters, not just one, by the DC-4. When did the price of filters get out of control folks? It's to the point where the return air can't get through the filter! I've read where this is actually true.... 'They' say it's better to get a reasonably-priced filter and keep it changed often. That is what I thought I was getting with this filter. I received the one filter and charged $44.00. I will be returning it to the store and not make this mistake again. I've seen on other websites that I haven't been the only one to question this and/or make this error. Thanks for listening :)
After installing we began detecting a subtle "hot" odor. After a few days it got worse and I discovered thenfurnace plenum was too hot to lay a hand on it. This new filter was bagged out about 4 inches telling me that it was restricting air flow. The filter was still clean. A standard (non-micro) replacement filter is working fine. This may not be the exact same filter, so see photo.
Our filter came broken. Whoever packed the filter into the box didn't even inspect. The box was in great condition. So frustrating.
