Neat, simple, battery inclusive - great for price.
This smoke alarm was given to me by a relative, and has not disappointed. One thing I like about this alarm is that you don't have to unscrew the alarm from the ceiling to change the battery. Instead, this model incorporates a front loading battery door for easy convenience. Another user friendly thing that this alarm offers, is good protection from any fire!
I replaced similar Kidde smoke alarms in my triplex with new ones as the old ones had reached their replacement date. The old products were excellent, worked well and were easily replaced with the new ones. I hope that we don't need the smoke alarms because of a fire in the building but if they are needed, I trust that they will work well.
I had purchased the same style smoke alarm a year or so ago and was pleased that it was so easy to load since all you have to do is release the front door and put in the new battery. My store did not have this particular alarm and I went to their online store to purchase it and have it delivered to my store which was very convenient.
My son said it wes easy to install and it would be easy for me to change the batteries.
These were a good deal as far as price. Batteries were included which was a nice surprise once they arrived. I can't really say/comment as to the durability because we just put them up a week ago. They met our expectations and hopefully they will be good in the long run.
Finding a product in retail stores was a hassle. Some of your products which better match what I was replacing don't comply with NY State law. This is just ridiculous and I know it's not Kidde's fault but still, who's running things in this world?
The battery door could not be closed. I followed instructions exactly and it just would not latch. You need a better design or better manufacturing standards. Very, very frustrating. I expected better from Kidde.
We installed this alarm on the kitchen ceiling and another one in the next room. We were baking and our oven had grease and gave off a lot of smoke that started to fill the ceiling. Alarm just sat there doing nothing. The one in the next room eventually alarmed but not in kitchen - fresh battery - almost new unit! Dangerous for a family!
I purchase 3 of these alarms in January or February of 2019 and have had to replace already as they no longer work. The expire date on them is 2031 so I thought they would last longer then 18 months
