It worked fine. Wish they would put the screws in package so you could see them. Found them when I opened up to put batteries in. I went and got screws and plastic anchors to put it up. Otherwise it's fine.
Tested by burning a piece of paper in a pot underneath. It wasn't as sensitive as we thought, but it did go off with enough smoke.
What a great smoke alram......eaasy to install, works as described and the price is right. I love the intermittent red light to indicate the alarm is working and feel secure in knowing the alarm is functioning as it should. Do not hesitate to buy this item...you won't be disappointed. Also very easy to remove and install/replace batteries when needed.

The one that I received does its job very well. It even goes off if I put fresh toast near it. I am still waiting for the other 2 that I ordered.
i have had continuous issues with 120v smoke alarms wired together. i decided to install 6 battery operated alarms that stand alone. all 6 worked and the false alarms have stopped. what a relief. these are easy to install on 4 inch center junction boxes.
Easy to install because you put the frame up first and then attach the alarm. Read the directions for checking the fire alarm and that is it. Battery goes in easily.
Install it was so simple as using an screwdriver!! And the price is just great!!
Check your order! I got the cheaper version and one was open with the battery missing.
