Duck Heavy Duty Door Shoe. This does what it says. Installation took less than 5 minutes and the instructions were very clear. Noticed a little dampness near the basement door. We installed this on the bottom of our back door to keep water from getting under the door and ruining our floors. Installation was easy, and so far, it's keeping water out. I am very excited about this product, I've used similar ones in the past, but they were clear in color. I like this one because it is brown, and the light won't come under the door. It is also very helpful in keeping the draft and weather out. We live in an area where we have four seasons, so this door shoe is very nice to have. I bought this weatherstrip to replace the worn out weatherstripping on my front door. It installed easily and works great. Since the pieces are 36" long there will be two sections butting up against each other vertically. There was no problem with light or air getting through the splice. There is enough for an average size door. If you do not want to have the splice you can buy the longer 80" weatherstripping from another brand, pay more than twice the price for one door and have approximately 44" of material left over.
I must say I am very happy with this purchase of the Doug brand heavy duty door shoe color is brown. It is definitely nice quality made item, very sturdy. I actually ordered two one for each door of my apartment that leads outside. What I like most about this door shoe is that it actually screws into the door as opposed to other ones that don?t attach to the door whatsoever. Used hack saw to trim and the sides came apart.
I bought two of these trying to remedy drafty French doors. Unfortunately, they are not durable. With the first one, about 4 inches of the part where screws are installed completely separated from the bottom seal when being slid onto door. I attached pics of the second one. One of the screw slots is split and that was prior to installation and when I was cutting with my mini hacksaw, a corner broke off.
The plastic is very brittle. It was difficult to slide underneath the door. The silicone overmolding is poorly attached, and it started peeling off. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Took the rest back because this was extremely crappie. Broke before I got it on the door.
