Keyboard is excellent for me, as I am a true beginner. I can practice on one or both hands, slow the tempo down, and repeat as small of a measure I choose to. It has a lot of bells and whistles, which I dint know how to use yet.
My son has played this everyday since Christmas!! Hes 9 and loves it!! Great sound, great quality. (My toddlers have knocked it to the floor a few times and it didn't break at all.)
I bought this for my daughter who is ten years old. We have only had it for a few weeks but it seems to be working out. She just started piano lessons and I didn't want to invest in a piano if she wasn't serious about the new hobby. She is enjoying it. I found the directions a little complicated. It does a lot of stuff, but I might be just too old too figure it out. Younger minds seem to do better with the technology stuff.
I bought this to teach myself to play. Using a combination of Youtube, programs like Synthesia, the built in sd card reading midi file. If your using your computer with the usb, I suggest using: Synthesia (free version). Lighting works with computer. Great keyboard. For $150, this was a great deal (CASIO LK-280 Premium Lighted USB Keyboard Pack with Power Supply, Keyboard Stand and Closed-Cup Stereo Headphones).
Purchased for our 9 year old daughter who also plays the piano. She loves to practice on this and enjoys the many different sounds it makes. She's learning to follow the 'light up' keys to learn new songs too. Great to have the headphones so she can play without disturbing others in the room. Good quality on the stand and keyboard. Lightweight so can easily be moved/carried. Glad we purchased this at a good price.
I purchased this for my grand daughter for Christmas , on line out of state n then drove to her place 15 hours away n I saw her open the package , it was shipped very nice n protected by packaging , I would recommend this as an excellent product ! I was very pleased ! And its of high quality !
I ordered the CASIO LK-280 Lighted Keyboard pack for my 8 year old grandson for Christmas. I was very surprised when he opened it up at the quality. The stand for the keyboard is very well made and heavy duty. The headphones give clear sound. The keyboard is amazing with all it can do. The different sounds, tempos, etc. and the fact that the keys light up makes it really nice for a beginner. I am not going to say that he will learn to play on his own, but it will make it nice for him as he learns to see where he should be. I have talked to a couple of friends since making this purchase and they even agreed that this keyboard is for beginners and professionals alike. Casio has always been a great brand name and this package lives up to its reputation.
I bought this just to learn how to play by myself. I was really surprised when I saw a Music Book inside the package and it really helped me alot to practice. Very good quality.
When I first got the keybord the keys wouldn't light up. I thought I was going to have to send it back. My son told me to look on youtube and see if soneone had the same problem, and they did. They opened it up and found that the cord inside was not plugged in. So I opened mine and it at first looked like it was plugged in but it wasn't fully. They succured the cord with a plastic strap but didn't give it enough room to plug in. Once I plugged it in it works fine. Love the headphones that comes with it.
The piano is everything I wanted. But, the headset jack doesn't fit the piano. One of the reasons I ordered this one is because it had a headset. Im bummed out
