I am loving my Aerogarden! Almost every pod sprouted very quickly and my basil and mini jalapeños are growing like crazy. I've even tried growing milkweed in the grow anything pods for my monarch caterpillars and it's been a huge success.
I now own two aero gardens. The first was a gift and I was so impressed by the herbs I grew over the winter, I knew I wanted to use it to start seeds for my summer garden. I was delighted to find that a seed starter tray was available, giving me 23 sowing places. In estimating my needs, I purchased the second aero garden and started trays for both. This week, I began transplanting the vigorous seedlings from the aero garden to pots with soil. It looks like all are thriving, but I did explain to them that the future for them would not be quite as bright as the perfect environment the aero gardens provide. It is a fabulous way to grow plants indoors - no green thumb needed!
We received a Harvest 360 in sage, for my 92-1/2 year old mother, who lives with us. She is frail and increasingly weak and "housebound." Aging is hard; she has vascular dementia, and losing her faculties is heart-wrenchingly distressing for her. We planted "Mountain Meadows" flower pods in her Harvest 360, and when they began to sprout, life in the morning perked up for her. She so looks forward to seeing how her flowers are doing! These days, after a week in the hospital, she is less able to come to the kitchen, so I moved her Harvest back to the far side of her bed. She's delighted and continuously cheered. The light is far enough away that during daytime it doesn't bother her, and at night she goes to sleep when the LED's go to sleep too. Flowers are beginning to blossom for her. I've never grown flowers in my 66 years, so now I am learning about pruning and helping her flowers go well. I also am growing herbs and vegetables in my other Aerogardens; it's so great to be growing things after 66 years of nothing but fails. Really, *nothing* but fails. I'm grateful for the role Aerogarden plays in my gardening success and joys, and especially for the cheer they bring my little mom.
I post my crops on Facebook constantly and brag about my success. I own 2. The first one was a gift from my son and his wife. I could truly sell these that is how impressed I am. 4 of my friends have purchased these because of my “sales pitch”.
The best gift for myself because it provides for me daily. This little gem strengthens my faith daily. Thank you AG for simplfying indoor gardening for urban dwellers.
It is a perfect indoor garden. I have several. It grows so fast and takes little work. It tells you when to water and when to feed. If you use the syphon and change the water every month or so, the garden thrives even better, which is phenomenal! Highly recommend! I have 5, various models. I grow lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, beet greens and tomatoes right now. I also have peppers waiting and edible flowers. You can also buy the grow your own pods and put your own seeds in. I did that for lemon balm and peppermint:-). Enjoy its bounty!
I can honestly say, it works. Had to be patient for the pods to germinate but once I saw the initial growth, they took off. I was able to start light harvesting within a couple weeks. Today, about a month after I plugged it in, I cook with fresh herbs. Really nice:)
The Aerogarden Harvest 360 is a real garden season extender. I have grown lettuce, herbs and tomatoes in the Harvest 360 and it works flawlessly. My wife and I enjoy bug, disease, and grit free veggies. It beats container gardening outside with its constant water and fertilizer supply. It is a conversation piece also. Many a visitor leaves with an "Aerogarden glimmer" in their eyes once they have seen it in action. I highly recommend the 360. It is a low stress garden. I have enjoyed coming in from my large garden outside after weeding and looking at the 360 with no weeding involved.
During this pandemic I was looking for something that would cheer me up when I come home from the hospital. I purchased a Harvest 360 in a calming sage color. The setup was super easy. Started growing 2 butter lettuce, 2 arugula and 2 heirloom cherry tomato plants. The Arugula took off first. It has a nice peppery taste (my daughter explains similar to a bell pepper), the same as the variety found i the store. My lettuce also doing nicely and we have been able to enjoy a few leaves after only 3 weeks. My tomatoes are the slower growers and I expect that I will have to be patient to enjoy these at a later time. It has served its purpose by making me happy that the plants growing. The only thing I should have considered was where I was placing my garden and considered a Harvest slim.
Easy to use, grows things quickly for even the least green thumb people like myself. My only issue was some of the seeds included with the purchase in the pre-packaged seed pods didn't germinate, even when following the instructions to a T. For that I gave it 4 stars, however the actual machine is great and really boosts plant growth. I also purchased the 'grow anything seed pods', and planted some peppers in the Aerogarden and separately to see the difference. After a few weeks, the pepper plant in the Aerogarden is nearly 3x as large as what I planted elsewhere, and has great root growth and you can see the difference day by day. Overall, great purchase and fits in nicely with other appliances in my kitchen.
