Detailed product description

Get outstanding 3D printing results when you use 1.75mm PLA 3D Printer Filament from Monoprice! PLA is a good choice for a printing material if you are looking for high accuracy and high resolution. It extrudes at lower temperatures, does not require a heated base, and has a very low shrinkage rate (0.3 percent). PLA is harder than ABS, but is therefore also a bit more brittle. Additionally, PLA is a plant-based plastic, which means that it is biodegradable and gives off a slightly sweet odor, like roasting corn. This 1 Kg spool features a thickness of 1.75mm ?0.10mm, with a roundness variation of only 0.03mm. It has a nominal processing temperature of 210? C (410?F). Thickness and roundness factors are laser measured at the factory to ensure accuracy over the entire length of the filament. The negatives of using PLA is that it is vulnerable to degradation from moisture, sunlight, and heat. Additionally, it is more prone to overheating during processing, which can cause dripping and drooping if it gets too hot.

Filament is 1.75mm 0.10mm diameter with a roundness variation of only 0.03mm. Biodegradable, plant-based plastic. 210C (410F) processing temperature. It extrudes at lower temperatures, does not require a heated base, and has a very low shrinkage rate (0.3%) Reel Dimensions: Reel Diameter: 195mm (7.68") | Hub Diameter: 95mm (3.74") | Spindle Diameter: 38mm (1.50") | Reel Width: 80mm (3.15").

I actually really enjoy it. I've been running my printer nonstop and when filament comes on sale, I plan on getting more.

Definitely a quality filament, I have only had minor problems with stringing but that's probably due to settings ( I'm fairly new to 3D printing) . I only gave 4 stars due to my inexperience with filaments but I would definitely recommend this product to a friend.

Prints great! Could stand to be a tad wider and a bit tidier.

This plastic prints well and is a good color for grey. Most other brands have a dark grey or light grey but nothing really in the middle. This is what I was looking for. I've had zero printing issues whatsoever but a few close calls. The product does look pretty much exactly as it's pictured online, but I knocked a star off the rating because the spooling is extremely chaotic. I haven't had any problems while printing with the three spools I've used, but I did have a bit of confusion when first opening it because the end slipped under another strand. Be very careful when opening it, you may give yourself a tangle without realizing it because it already looks like a mess. Spools are also a tad thinner than most I'm used to from other brands, which makes the first few yards of plastic spill over the edge if you're not careful. I may have had a failed print and tangled filament if I didn't notice and correct the issue in time. All in all, good plastic for printing a giant Stargate!

Good filament...

Bought several spools and have had generally good results with it. It is a little brittle and breaks fairly easily while some premium filament is more durable. Still a good deal for the price.

I've got about 5 different spools right now and I've been printing a lot, but none of the colors have given me nearly as many problems as the white filament does! it's so brittle it cracks if I handle it rough and sometimes just snaps on its own if I wiggle the table. prints with it are very smooth, as someone else mentioned, but completely unforgivingly unflexible. in hindsight my friend warned me about this, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. I suggest using the clear or grey filament instead of white, since they're both much sturdier!

Inconsistent Color

I ordered florescent yellow a couple months ago and loved the bright color. Reordered more and the new spool is a dark, translucent, orangish-yellow. Spool size is different too, so the filament came from a different supplier. Prints fine; just not the shade I wanted.

Terrible Quality

I bought this because Amazon was out of stock and I'd rather wait for Amazon to restock then buy this again. First, the filament is gets tangled to easily and throws off the print. Second, I had no problem with the smell when I bought off Amazon, this smells a lot. Third, this filament is so brittle. I was trying to take off the support from the print and when I did the entire print broke in half. This product is not premium. Buy Hatchbox instead of this.

Worst filament I've worked with

On our second run with this blue filament, it started breaking inside the machine and I had to remove the feeder tube to get the piece out. I then started to manually pull some of the filament off of the spool and it was almost shattering in my hand. Half of the entire spool ended up breaking off from the spool. This product is of extremely poor quality and will not buy filament from monoprice again.

Not happy with this filament

After the small spool I got with my MP Voxel ran out, I tried the Amazon filament first without success. From a recommendation from another teacher, I went with Hatchbox and have never had a problem. However, Hatchbox is severely backordered so I decided to go with the Monoprice filament. Tried numerous configurations of heat, speed etc and no adhesion. Very poor results.
