Get outstanding 3D printing results when you use 3.0mm ABS 3D Printer Filament from Monoprice! ABS is one of the most commonly used filament types in 3D printing. It has a high tensile strength and good overall toughness. It has a low density and is softer than PLA, which means lower weight and lower cost when printing large models. Hardness is such that no white dot appears when bending. This 1 Kg spool features a thickness of 3.0mm 0.10mm, with a roundness variation of only 0.05mm. It has a nominal processing temperature of 200 C (392F). Thickness and roundness factors are laser measured at the factory to ensure accuracy over the entire length of the filament. The negatives of using ABS is that it can give off a white smoke with a concentrated odor. It is best to ensure that the printing room is well ventilated when using ABS. Additionally, it has a high moisture absorption rate. Depending on the overall humidity level of the printing environment, an opened spool can absorb enough moisture after a couple of days that high temperature printing could cause bubbles or pocks in the extrusion. It is therefore recommended to not open a spool until you are ready to print and to store any unused portion with with silca gel and/or an active dehumidifier to reduce the amount of moisture it can absorb.

The silver worked out great! It printed very nice.
This filament is really great. I have not had any issues using it. is there better stuff out there? Yes. However, for this price, I would highly recommend this as it also performs very well.
Perfect price point. The MatterControl software and USB cord make this as simple printing on paper (Thanks DrVax). Many teachable language moments in the process: geometry, time, elapsed time, percentage to fractions. This was a perfect addition to our full inclusion Create Lab. Works great IF you use the recommended settings and dry your filament. The filament arrived in a vacuum bag with dessicant, and yet even so i still had some moisture caused issues until I dried the filament in a food dehydrator. If you are having issues with this filament, make sure it is dry, or maybe just dry it just in case.
Good stuff. Prints fairly consitantly on a cr10. I do have delamination issues but I'm sure it's a function of the extruded and ambient temperature rather than the filiment
The filament does not adhere to itself very well, leaving cracks in the finished product. It works nicely for small details and small objects but has issues with larger prints. I'm going back to PLA.
i was sent an off brand abs by mistake a few years ago ... it printed beautifully even without an enclosure. my new printer is enclosed and the off brand printed like a silk, but very strong. the white Monoprice ABS had burn marks and bubbles in it on prints using mid-range temps. they were brittle, had poor layer adhesion, and chunks just flaked off. it still showed some burn marks at 195C ... acceptable at 190C (i have a special tool to measure solder iron temp that works well on hot end for calibration). prints continued to be flaky but had better layer adhesion below recommended temp 220-260C. i figured these were old or from a less than good batch ... i bought 4 rolls (they were cheap). i have had very good results from every other Monoprice product (starting with I3 printer). dont let one poor review sway you.
Tried multiple different kinds of settings for bed heat, extruder heat, etc, each of which caused it's own issues and failures. Some pieces failed halfway up, many refused to adhere at all, despite a dozen or so attempts with various settings I never got a full successful print. Breaks/clogs easily, easily loses layer adhesion to the point of the whole print failing, difficult to make adhere to build plate.
I have NEVER been able to get this stuff to stick to the bed, nor print without warping and splitting. I have 9/10's of a spool that unusable on my Monoprice Maker Select Plus. Highly unstable even in an enclosure. PURE JUNK!
The filament I received was 3mm not 1.75mm I needed. it says clearly on the packing that it is 3MM 1Kg spool. Printed on the website is: Premium 3D Printer Filament ABS 1.75mm 3mm 1kg spool - All Colors
