This instrument is made in France with attention to detail and precision. Definitely not your run of the mill knock-off.
I have it on the wall in my living room. I bought some other thermometers at the same time, and I have reason to believe that this one is more accurate (and more attractive)
Since I have received one of these & mounted it on my wall, I'm able to keep a decent track of the upcoming weather patterns. It is a very handsome & well built instrument, that would look great in any decor. It is easy to read & use and keep track of the incoming air pressure & weather changes. It is well worth the money spent on it. And now I'm looking to add to it, to grace the wall of my office area/home.
This is a beautiful instrument. My only caveat is the initial adjustment. The instructions are unclear on this. To get accurate readings, one must adjust the setting screw to compensate for your elevation (approximately -0.1"" Hg for every 100 ft. above sea level). Then it will track local barometric reports, which are adjusted to sea level. It also takes about a week to acclimate. Excellent quality and value.
This barometer was a birthday gift for my boyfriend. He absolutely loves it! He was very surprised that I had bought it for him. I listen when he talks lol.
I'm going to use it to monitor behavoir problem students in relation to low pressure weather changes.
I use it in my home to monitor weather changes and specifically to see the intensity of the pressure changes. Nearly all media weather reports do not use pressure but I feel it is the main key so I get it myself from my personal barometer. This is a good medium price unit.
This is a beautiful barometer/thermometer but unfortunately (as I discovered after returning three) will not work above 2500' altitude. It finally took a call to the importer and a discussion with their technician to find this out. I am disappointed because it truly does look like a quality product if you live below 2500'.
The directions said it was already programmed - no need to do anything - but it came with both needles at Very Dry. So I went online to the Weather Channel to get the barometric pressure reading, set the lower hand, and now it's ready to show me if El Nino will ever bring Calif. any rain. Very nice, reliable, attractive. No batteries needed, ever - love this. Like the lettering on the face, too.
you have to tap the glass as the needle sticks, the readings nearly agree with the internet, im not done adjusting it yet but the difference is usually .1 higher or lower.
