I have systemic lupus erythematosus and am not supposed to be out in the sun. When I mow my lawn I am also surrounded by woods and water. This product works wonders for bug repellant and sunscreen. I love it! Doesn't stain your clothes either. Scent is very strong though.
My most favourite one. And now it's discontinued. My friends raved about this sunblock, they loved it too. I am begging .... please bring this back, do not change the formula... it is perfect the way it is. I wish I had bought a few if I had known it would be discontinued. It seem I will have to make my own with the right ingredients to make my own. I don't like that badger is now using sunflower oil, and honestly sunflower is not for my skin.
My oldest daughter is highly allergic to most sunscreen products. This brand is about the only commercially available one she can use. AND, that I trust as far as having clean non toxic ingredients. Being as fair skinned as my family is (like, vampire pale y'all) going sans-sun protection isn't a great idea. So, we make sure to keep a healthy supply of badger sunscreen on hand. The bug protection formula sunscreen is my favorite. It has the best texture out of the varieties I have tried, and lasts long into the evening to keep pests at bay. It does a great job of protecting from sun burns and bug irritations both - I also enjoy the scent of this one best.
I have only used it once but I think it works. It is pretty water resistant, which I liked, my daughter was playing in the sprinkler and the water was beading off of her. The only bad thing was how thick it was, it took a long time to apply it and rub it in, thankfully I have a toddler who stands still and enjoys the mini massage when putting on sunscreens and bug repellent lotions, but if you don't have time to invest in putting it on I wouldn't recommend it.
Searched out a combination bug spray/sunscreen for our toddler. Smells great, a bit greasy but that's because it uses flower oils as natural repellants. All in all very satisfied with our purchase- doesn't repel as well as DEET, but I didn't expect it to- and as least it's safe for our little one.
It works well! I live in upstate NY and go on hikes fairly often. It does a good job keeping most bugs away. I also tend to sweat buckets even in the low 70°F range and this stayed true on my skin through a 2 hour hike. It smells woodsy (which I like), and is effective. it's NOT going to dry clear unless you only wear the thinnest possible layer (in which case, I would question whether a super thin film is effective at all). It WILL show up white with some streaks. It WILL feel like there's a layer of stuff covering you (and I'm one who is very sensitive to things on my skin). It's the nature of this type of sunscreen. But it will block the sun, deter the bugs, and keep your skin happy (at least for me!) I'm a fan.
My son doesn't like the pesky bugs during the summer, so this product is perfect! I also love that it's made with essential oils and safe ingredients.
Great Idea putting bug spray and sunscreen in the same tube. Used it and am very satisfied with this product. I wasn't bothered by bugs and was protected from the sun all in one. Mosquitoes are very bad at this time of year and so is the sun.
Anyone who goes to the lakes in summer will appreciate this product. The sunscreen is very effective when used as instructed, and the mosquitos seem to hate it which makes me love the product even more!! So happy to have found Badger Sunscreen with its naturally derived ingredients...
Although I like the scent and it was certainly effective for both sunscreen and bug control, it is a little thick to spread on the skin. Also, I didn't notice before ordering that it contains zinc, which turns the skin white and doesn't seem to sink in.
