Nice product.
As a 4th grade educator in the Chicago Public Schools I've been abound to the necessity for an electronic stapler to help in guiding the extra practice that equals progress for all.
I love the stapler. 10-20 bucks cheaper on Walmart.com vs all the other stores carrying it. I actually bought one from a national office retail store, but returned it bc it was $50 versus walmart.com $30
As an educator for 18 years I've always used the Swingline electronic stapler and it has always eased the efficiency and productivity.
I purchased the Optima automatic stapler in Oct of 2021. It worked very well until July of 2022, not even a year, when it jammed, and the stapler rack cannot be retracted and locked into place. I've ordered a 2nd one, and we'll see how it goes.
I bought this to replace a blue one I had from the same brand for about a year before it broke. I hope this one lasts longer. The pros are that it can be battery or power cord operated (I prefer battery as it's easier to move around my desk) and that you can pick it up like a normal stapler for easier use, and it's pretty quiet. The cons are that it only handles about 20 sheets of paper at a time, and can only hold half of a row of staples. The pros outweight the cons, and I think it's a good value, especially compared to the more expensive (albeit heavier duty) ones.
The manufacturer should include a small initial supply of staples or, at the very least, make it conspicuously clear that staples must be purchased separately. It's annoying to get a new product home and then have to go out again to purchase something that could have been purchased at the same time as the product. It's like having your new car delivered, but with an empty gas tank.
I bought this stapler to replace The Powerhouse PraxxisPro stapler that I bought from Amazon, which is supposed to be the best on the market. Not only was that monstrosity heavy, but it was also an eyesore on my desk. It also stopped working after barely a month of use and cost $70! I've been using this cute Optima Grip for a couple of weeks and so far, so good. It has a shiny silver finish, is very lightweight and compact. My only issues with it is that it is half-strip and non-flat clinch but for $40 it's totally worth it.
Works fairly well, but jams at the end of the staples. Have to throw away the last quarter inch of staples. I have had and used others that were more efficient and effective. I like the way you can switch to a grip method. Overall, for the money, it could be made better.
I didn't like how far paper must be inserted into stapler to activate it. Also slow to staple. The main reason for my poor rating is that after only 3 uses it stopped working. I will be returning it.
