We needed a small pan to make a 3 tiered cake for my daughter's birthday. We buttered the pan and had no issues with sticking; I used it twice to make 2 cakes for the top tier.
I like my pans. I use them to make birthday cakes. I do three 12 in layers so takes a while but they turn out beautifully!
baked evenly and accurate to the baking time in my recipe! came out of the pans clean! hooray!
These wilton cake pans are terrific! Before purchasing these I have tried my hand at baking traditional cakes randomly maybe twice a year and I am consecutively no good at it. Even though my cakes tasted good there was always a huge hump towards the middle, burnt on the exterior, too wet on the interior or something like that, for this reason I had never made a birthday cake and had only ever bought store bought birthday cakes. This year my son wanted a tiered cake for his 14th birthday but the local bakery quoted me nearly $200 so I watched a few youtube videos, purchased these pans, and set out to make it myself. I have never ever made a birthday cake, this is my first time and as a first I cut to size and used some parchment paper at the base of the cake pan and that made the cake removal process quick and easy. I purchased a leveler expecting a big rise in the middle of the cake during baking but these pans cooked so awesome that I really didn't need it at all, they are good pans so they transferred the heat perfectly and made an even distribution that rose pretty much level on its on. I am very impressed and after using each pan twice to make 4 double cake tiers the cake turned out spectacular taste and appearance. Everyone thought I had bought the cake from a professional and after convincing them with photo evidence no one believed it was my first time making a birthday cake because it looked and tasted so good. The best news is it only cost me $30 for all the ingredients I needed to make this cake from scratch (not including the cost of the cake pans and leveler) instead of nearly $200. I've had family members ask me to make their next birthday cake but I will probably just stick to making them only on my kids birthday's because the process is very time consuming so I have a new level of respect for the bakers and all their hard work they put into making the cakes, it was certainly at least $200 worth of effort I put into making this cake and if I weren't a stay at home mom I probably would not attempt doing it again. As for the clean up it was super easy with these pans and the pans still look like new after having used them in the oven. The only advice I would give is to be careful not to drop these pans as I believe they may dent easily but if you use them with care, and put them away when not in use you can easily avoid that. This is my first Wilton purchase and based on these cake pans I am impressed.
This was the perfect size for making a mini cake to accompany cupcakes.
Nice pan, perfect for half sheet cakes. I was a tad disappointed that it was so light. Wilton use to make them heavier . I hoping it doesn't wrap when I put it in the oven. Should have keep my old one of 40 years. Now that was a Wilton.
They are perfectly fine for normal use. The sides of the pans are straight and that is helpful for stacking and frosting cakes.
Great size pan. Only down fall is if you are making flan be careful with the Carmel. Pan gets scolding hot when I tried to move to the side.
I purchased 2 of this set from Amazon and 1 from Walmart. The one from Walmart has a strange white film/coating on it that will not come off despite multiple attempts to hand wash and two runs through the dishwasher. I don't feel comfortable putting food in the pans not knowing what it is and knowing it shouldn't be there. I paid even more to get it from Walmart because I needed to get it sooner. Complete waste of money and now I still had to order another set from Amazon.
Walmart shipped what looks to be a damaged cake pan. Front label looks to have what May have been something taped to the paper and was torn off. Box it was delivered in was in perfect condition BUT NOT THE OLCAKE PAN! One dent,, almost through the pan front to back. Now I have to return this? 😩
