I purchased my "Stand-Up Lamb Pan Set" at least 20 years ago. I was very impressed that despite my lack of previous cake decorating experience, my cake came out exactly as pictured after I followed your excellent instructions. I have not used the pan in several years & pulled it out with plans to make the cake this summer. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the instructions which came with the pan. I do not decorate cakes very often & knew I would not try it without your easy to follow instructions. As a last effort I pulled up your website in hopes you might have instructions online. Thank you so much for including the Lamb cake decorating instructions on your website. Now I can make the Lamb cake for my grandchildren.
We made this cake last year! It was alot of fun and we used edible grass to go around the bottom of it. Love seeing all the other ideas to go along with the pan!
Great pan! If you follow directions the baking is a breeze and decorating it was so much fun! You do have to use a heavy batter though. I did practice with it several times before Easter dinner. I found that you have to be careful and make sure it cooks all the way...don't just use the little hole to test it. Take the pan apart for the last 10 minutes of baking then test it in the neck part. I had a decapatated lamb on my first try because he wasn't done all the way and the neck seemed to be the last place to finish cooking everytime I practiced. It turned out cute as a button and my entire family still raves about it!
I have used this pan on several ocassions. My favorite cake was a Pegasus cake I made for my grand daughter birthday:) She would no let us eat the cake. She kept petting as though it were her pet Pegasus. In addition, I have made several beautiful Easter lamb cakes:)
Love the cake pan shaped like a lamb .Have no conplaints about it.Have several other cake pans from you.I make the lamb every Easter .I stand it up and put jelly beans and green coconut for grass and buy the icying flowers and put around it .It looks so nice .This year have some ideas to make it a little different .Maybe get some marshmallows peeps and flowers. My kids love helping me decorate around the cake :)
This was my mother's pan, she used to make it every Easter. I have had it for a while now but this Easter was the first time I made it. Followed directions and lamb came out nicely, no problems. Will try and upload the photo's as soon as I figure out how to do it on this site. Decorated my lamb and was very pleased at the end results. I name her, "Delilah" My Little Easter Lamb Cake :) I have recently started to get back into my cake decorating as I have been busy with my children. Would be so appreciative to win your Wilton "The Ultimate Decorating Kit". It would really give me the jump start to continue on with my cake decorating. Many new tools and techniques! I have 5 boy's and would love to show them what I know I could really do. The "Tools" are very important though. I have seen this in store and online. Winning this kit would be the "Ultimate" :)
I made this cake for a local Church Bazaar & Ladies Luncheon? Sold for $65, I nearly fell over. I used Hostess Twinkies all around it. Filled in the gaps with Royal icing, used basket weave design to look "fenced in" or manger like on Fancy Foil....it was the talk of the whole meeting, they thought I bought it, but had step-by-step pics as it came to life. THEY LOVED IT! ~Pat from El Cajon, CA.
It's a great pan! I don't know if it's just mine....but I have to use butcher's twine to keep it closed tight. I used it today to make a doberman pincher dog!
This is a great pan. The cakes have come out perfect every time making decorating very easy. Not only is the lamb precious, I also used the pan to make a very beautiful "doggy" cake. I used fondant to add a mussel to the face and to form the legs. I used my grass tip to make the fur.
I am not a cake baker but I followed the directions to the letter and it worked :) It even looked like a lamb after is was frosted and decorated
