Just started working on this beautiful stocking. These will be the 5th and 6th stockings I have made for my family. Previous projects included needlepoint and cross stitch so I know these will require a lot of time and patience since the Aida cloth is about 16 count . Stitches are primarily cross and half cross as well as some back stitch, and a few couching and French Knots. Illustrated diagrams are provided for all stitches. I don't care for the color or quality of the off-white finishing felt included with the kit and plan to change it to another color. The yarns are beautifully presorted and attached to two long sturdy strips that are marked by number and color, saving a lot of setup time. Instructions are sufficiently detailed and easy to follow. This kit is suitable for any level; just remember that this will be a lengthy project.
I like the design but am having the same issues with this kit as I have had in several other Dimension kits. I like that the floss is sorted however the instructions are for separating bundles into the correct colors. Also, the strips the floss come attached to don't lend themselves to actually working during the stitching process. The strands are too long & tangle easily &, once you have cut a strand off, you can't put a partial piece back if you don't use the entire strand. While the chart is easier to read than some of the other Dimension charts it appears that the last 2 lines on page one are duplicated on page two but they are not shaded or otherwise indicated as such. If you don't have experience with multiple page charts this would be very confusing.
Very beautiful design, but very difficult for a intermediate stitcher! Product should have stated the cross stitch count. The stitch count wasn't stated so I did not know what to expect. I ordered 2 returned 1, as I have started the first stocking.
