You will be happy with this kick stand. (GET IT)
This kickstand is a better fit for my 26” bike than the one that came with it! It may be a touch long for a 24” without bending it outward just a touch, and it will probably work just fine for a 27” or 29”. The one major feature this kickstand has that is not mentioned anywhere is the kickup lever at the top. I really like this because it makes it a lot easier to kick it up from a seated position, and a lot harder for it to pop up unintentionally, which happened a lot with my original kickstand. I am really happy with this kickstand, and I'd recommend it to anyone with an Avalon, Glendale, or Pomona model bike, and probably several other 26” models that take an axle-mounted stand.
Best I found for the price but it hooks to the rear axel which I didn't realize. No big deal unless your a hardcore mountain biker. I did have to put tape around the bar of my bike so it was supported as intended. The bar on my trek was a bit to small. Can't see the tape though since its under the stand, so no cosmetic issues.
For the price it is worthwhile. Would be better if it was longer so bike does not tilt so much. To be fair, I have a bike trunk attached,so the weight of that affects the angle of tilt.
Be careful before buying this kick stand. The description isn't very good and this did not fit our bike like it said it would. Other than that, the quality is probably fine, just doesn't fit all bikes as the size says it would.
Sparse information in the description/spec. Figured to try it out. I also purchased the alloy kick stand. This black one was better made and stronger, but didn't fit my son's black bike. So returned it. The alloy one fit fine, but not as good as this one. I'd def. get this one for a larger 26" or 29". Fits on the rear wheel axle.
I thought this was a regular kickstand for mounting below a bike. It actually mounts to the very rear of the bike where the rear tire bolts on. And it sticks way out behind the frame. Kind of goofy looking, I'm going to get a regular bottom mounting kickstand instead.
The Wal-mart sourcing person responsible for this kickstand should be required to include dimensions, specifications and instructions. Yes it does mount on the rear axle. As in our case it may not fit depending on the design of the frame. Yes it did scratch the paint on the brand new frame. Note that the kickstand locks down, but doesn't lock up and may slip down during use.
If your bike has a quick release wheels, like mine does, then I won't recommend this kick stand. It does not come with anything else except what appears in the picture. The only way to install this kickstand is to use the wheel axle. However, if you have a quick release wheel, then there is no room. So if you have a quick release wheel, don't buy this kickstand. https://www.google.ca/search?q=quick+release+bike+wheel+images&hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENCA246&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=odKlUMHbFImQiALz84GACw&sqi=2&ved=0CCcQsAQ&biw=1866&bih=1038
It's a nice-looking kickstand and it's a good price. The problem is that it doesn't fit all frames, as advertised. Furthermore, although I knew it was a rear-axle mount, it didn't come with instructions or mounting hardware. I took it to my local bike shop and they said it would not fit onto the frame of my 26" Ironhorse Quantum II.
