I purchased these for my husband who has leg swelling. I usually buy the compression of 20-30 but they are so hard to put on. These are a little easier at 15-20 compression and they do the job well.
They're a perfect fit and retain their compression after many uses. Been using the socks for over a year and getting ready to buy more.
Compressive stockings were prescribed for leaky leg veins to minimize blood pooling. Medical Supply Stores charge almost $100 for compressive stockings. I wanted several pair for weekly laundry so got these at far less cost. This Large length is just below knee on 5'10"-6'0" person. It is above thickest part of calf so stays up well. They look great whether worn with suit or casual attire. They are sturdy so last a long time & are a worthwhile investment. I've worn them for several years. I used to just wear "dress" socks ending above ankle, but soon preferred wearing these. They last for years despite weekly machine washing & drying.
Medium size in this dress sock is smaller than medium for the brown nylon sock.It takes a lot of trial and error to finally get the correct size for different socks. If a sock is a little smaller then the effective mmHg is higher. The Walmart easy return policy is very helpful!
I am a female, and got these because the normal support hose I buy from Walmart were out of stock. I was pleasantly surprised that these kept my feet a bit warmer. Not as energizing as my others, but those are 20-30, so they are not really comparable. For what they are, they are great! Stayed up well. Washed and hung dry, have not worn since, so cannot say how they fared. For the record, I ordered my normal size M. I am 5 foot 7 and have extra length, but not a lot.
I followed the instructions. That was so hard to do. For my entire life anything that was for my feet was measured by my foot size, 12.5. But the instructions said to select my stocking size by measuring my ankle, my calf and the length from the bottom of my foot to my knee joint. So that is what I did and selected size M. They fit perfectly with the right compression from my ankle to my knee. Plenty of room around my foot. What a surprise.
They were much smaller than I was led to believe in description, was supposed to be XL but were very small
First off, whoever did the fulfillment on the first pair, messed up. They sent the wrong size. I had to go in-store to return them. Then, the correct size came. They were 2X but didn't fit either. So, I returned them also. Maybe I'll have a better experience the next time.
way too small for what was advertised
I bought an extra large pair of Men's Support Socks thinking that too big would be better than too small...I still don't know the answer to that question because I never did get them on....I could not do a thing with them, actually something with that much super, strong elastic may be useful for tying some trees back.
