I love this salad. It is an amazing deal for a pretty big salad and tastes great However i agree that there are a few big end pieces in it but i look at them and pick the one with more leaves and less stems. For the price though, it is an awesome deal. Some stores have it for only 3.54 depending on the area which is crazy! Those tiny ones cost the same or more at your standard grocedy stores. The croutons are seriously best i have ever had! There is so much dressing so i use less than half. The nutrition info is high because of the dressing. Just use a little of it.
So today I was craving a salad but didn't want to go to a restaurant and sit down and didn't wanna spend a lot of money...I stopped into my local Walmart and was about to buy the ReadyPac Bistro Salad when I saw this one...for $2 and some change left it had 2x more chicken and a huge cup of dressing. When I got home and took my first bite I was amazed...at how good this salad was for the price. It ended up being too big to finish so I shared it with my mom. She liked it also :)
I bought this for my husband and he was surprised at how good it was, especially since the price was so reasonable. I looked at another brand that was twice as much but it was smaller, so I went with this one and he loved it. He ate the entire thing and said he wouldn't be mad at me if I bought more in the future. lol
I've been buying your salads since they were in the round bowls and do not ever remember pulling so many stems out of my salad than I do now. I mean like big white stems!!! Would you guys eat them?! I see, it's not about quality anymore, just quantity. How much product you get out there. All I ask is, make our food the way you would make your own food. This bag is all the hard stems I pulled out of my salad. The salad after I pulled the stems out.
The croutons really make this salad, the cheese and dressing are also great.
Normally, I LOVE the Marketside Chicken Caesar Salad. They're usually fresh and have a great taste. The one I purchased yesterday and ate today for lunch was also very fresh and tasty. BUT this time - for some strange reason - my salad contained THREE lettuce cores! That's never happened before. I can see one getting overlooked, but three? I couldn't finish the salad, because for some reason just seeing three cores in it made me lose my appetite.
Okay, so there I was enjoying my salad. I thought to myself, "I wonder if they washed their lettuce?" Naturally I responded :-) "ofcourse they do silly, it's packaged ready to eat." So I was comforted. I was pleased with the date of expiration, it was fresh and crunchy. So I said grace and dug in. For some reason I didn't feel like pouring the dressing in. After a few bites well; I saw something a bit off. As I drew closer I realized it was a bug. I ran over to the kitchen spat out what I was about to swallow and rinsed my mouth while trying not to throw up. The sad part is I purchased 2 of them, I don't see myself eating the 2nd one at all. I don't see myself buying one of these anytime soon. I'm not giving a 1 star because, was it not for this winged creature (pictures attached) it would have been a lovely salad, I believe.
Bought 2 at my local store with curbside grocery pickup. 1st time in this larger (love that) size. Best before date of feb 17. Bought on feb 15, for lunch on 16th... Black spots all over more than half the lettuce in both. Spent more time picking through it all out than I did eating the 1/3 that was left!! Love these salads, but it happens quite often. Yes, lots of thick stem pieces with brown, dried edges lately. Taste is Great when the quality is good, but it's 60/40 % of time chance of that. No more pickup buying with these salads.
Generally i dont habe a problem with these salads. However, today my daughter proceeded to eat her salad and found a little extra protein in her salad. I think those who package and prepare these salads should pay closer attention and remove bugs before sealing. ð¡ð¡
I was eating the salad and crunched on something hard, I had to spit it out and the middle piece of the fork was in three pieces! Apparently, DON'T use the fork it comes with.
