One of the best salads I've ever had and I don't like spicy that much. At least you can control it, but I poured too much dressing. Lesson learned haha!
The flavors are perfect. I'm not a huge iceberg lettuce fan but, with how good this salad is, it doesn't matter. A leafy mix would be great though! This is actually one of my favorite salads to date!
I'm a very very picky eater. I am a very clean eater as well. I discovered this salad back when they had a seafood version and the containers were a black bowl and clear lid. That had to have been over 10 years ago. I just pick out the chicken and it's my favorite thing. Nothing is wrong with the chicken by the way, I just don't eat meat. It's always the first salad to go at my local Walmart's, so others are on to the greatness!!!
I work in a Walmart deli, and I'll tell you the thing behind these salads. We only get one box of these salads a day and that one box only makes 8 total salads (Yes they come in a box, in 'put together' kits). They sell like crazy and they go FAST (they're the #2 best selling salad the deli has), so if you go to the store and they're out, it's likely you got there too late to get one. And this website needs to update the picture they use for this salad because they don't come in that kind of container anymore, they now come in a totally see through plastic container.
This is my go to salad, especially when I don't make my own. I usually add strawberries, blueberries, jalapenos, black olives, cherry tomatoes, green grapes, mushrooms, sometime all of that, sometimes less, depending on how fast I want to dive in. The dressing is great, I'm using red wine vinegar instead for less calories. The price is just right, even when they go on sale, the quality is still good. Well worth it
These used to be the best salads you could find! Now they're smaller and have a LOT more plastic and create a LOT more waste products to pollute the Earth. I'm not buying these ever again and I used to buy them almost daily.
Awful, I wish I could give it negative reviews. In the poor lit salad area, the salad appeared to be fine. I get back to work and eat it for lunch later on and it's brown. Disgusting. Exactly why I get from Hyvee and Target. Best by date isn't for 5 days and it was already gross.
The salad itself wasn't bad. The pico was literally white and slimy though. I almost puked when I smelled it. It was my lunch so I ate the rest of it and they want me to return it because the pico was bad. Um?
This review is for the Fried Chicken Salad. All the greens and such where fresh in this salad BUTTTTTT where the heck is the FRIED CHICKEN????!!! There where two little pieces of old dried up batter that could not/should not be considered chicken. I usually enjoy the Marketside Salads but this was a disappointment.
The lettuce was wilted and transparent as if it was frozen and than thawed out. I had to take out some of the lettuce out because of it being bad shape.
