The crosse and blackwell mincemeat is delicious! It's the brand my family has been using for over 70 years. Some mincemeat has a strong vinegar taste but this one does not. It's perfect for baking in pies and serving with ice cream or a cup of tea
Crosse and Blackwell is The best filling for mincemeat pie that I have found. Slightly tart and perfectly spiced. We love it - it just says, “Christmas”!
Can't believe I was able to find this online and for such a great price; it's been so hard to find it in storefronts this last decade and then some (Northern California) and I like to shop a full season ahead. Great price and quality. I make pies using the filling plus several large tart apples chopped medium-fine. My son-in-law had no idea what mincemeat was; now I have to make a pie a day at the holidays! It does contain corn byproduct so I will still have to make a homemade version for my daughter...
This mincemeat contains no high fructose corn syrup and so it is the only product I will use to make mince pies. The flavor is true to the pies I used to eat when I was small and living in England. Thank you Cross and Blackwell for not changing the recipe.
Outstanding flavor. Not easy to find, but worth the hunt. Will buy again.
So enjoyed making family-fav's this holiday. I am so glad you continue to make this product. I do enjoy regular, but the rum & brandy version is treat, too.
In addition to some holiday recipes that I use this in, I like it over plain white yogurt. Delicious.
I was not able to find this in any store in a 50 mile radius from where I live. I have had mincemeat pies every Christmas since I was born and was not happy when I could not get it. You saved my Christmas , I love this product and your shipping was super fast. Thanks
Really prefer the version with rum & brandy, but haven't been able to find it (some say it is no longer made?). Not overly sweet for mincemeat; lots of apples with currents, raisins, etc. Our family prefers the taste and texture to other brands (at least 3) we have been able to find. Have added our own rum & brandy, but haven't gotten the flavor to match the company-made version.
Product isgreat. Smuckers packing dept is awful. First jar sent was smashed and oozing all over.
