This lemon meringue pie is deliciously lemony! So creamy with just the perfect amount of tartness. The meringue is amazingly good, especially for a frozen pie. The crust is buttery and not dry, with a cookie consistency that compliments the filling and topping. I will definitely be getting this again.
This is my favorite frozen pie. When I bring it home from the store, I cut it into 4 slices (it has partially thawed just enough), then slip them back into the pan with lid, and into the box, then into the freezer. When it is time to eat a slice, I pull out one serving and eat it mostly frozen; it is like a lemon sorbet pie, only creamy, with the perfect luscious taste of lemon with an ice creamy kind of texture, absolutely perfect on a hot day. DELICIOUS! My problem is I can never find enough of these pies here in SW Florida, but when I can, I buy 5-6 at a time, and keep them in my deep freezer. I wish they would offer Key Lime with Meringue and Chocolate Cream with Meringue, too. Summer would be perfection!
We have loved this pie in the past, but something has changed. The meringue doesn't look the same and is of the multi-fleurette style now. Not recognizable, once it's out of the box. The entire pie seems smaller and appears to be made in an completely different factory. This takes away its former specialness, so that it might have been any of a number of other so-so brands.
I will not buy this pie again. It is not the same. What did they do with the meringue? The topping now is not 100% percent meringue. It is mixed with a cream or cool whip that is spread flat over the top. It used to be high and whipped. Also the cream is overpowering the little bit of lemon that's in it now. Did they really believe they could pass this one off? Am sure the sales of that pie will be drop. For now on if I want a meringue pie I will go to the bakery section to find one.
We buy one of these lemon meringue pies every week and they have always been the best we've ever had. Now suddenly the recipe has changed and the pie is no longer anything special and looks nothing like the picture you see on their site. The meringue has been changed so it's more like a weird cream and not as deep, and the amount of lemon filling is noticeably less and doesn't fill the crust which now has a huge edge that crumbles and falls off when you cut a slice, and the taste of the lemon part is also off. This was a 5 star pie that has been ruined by a company that is trying to save a few pennies by using cheap and inferior ingredients because they mistakenly think customers are stupid and don't notice. We would rather pay a little more if the company genuinely needs to raise prices because ingredients cost more, not because they're trying to trick their customers into believing they have to sacrifice quality. It's a money grab and nothing more. Sadly, they have just lost our weekly pie purchase.
This pie has changed and shrunk. The meringue topping is less than half of what it used to be and the way it is dribbled on is not nearly as satisfying. The lemon pudding part is also smaller. We used to enjoy this pie often, but now Shrinkflation is leaving a bitter taste in our mouths.
This pie used to be my favorite and the last time I thought the first one was something wrong with it. The second 1 was just not the same either the bottom crust is thick And not flaky. The Meringue was thinner and not to the edges of the pie like I'm used to. I probably won't buy Them Again.
This is far from the wonderfully delicious pie I have purchased for years. You need to warn consumers on the top of the box that this is an entirely different recipe. What happened to that mile high meringue and perfect lemon filling? You have lost a customer.
The new version of the lemon meringue pie is terrible. Nothing seems the same. Crust is different and the meringue is different. Why ruin something good! I loved the old version but I don't like this version. Will not be buying again. So disappointed. Used to buy all of the time
Dear Management, your Lemon Meringue Pie used to be next best compared to my homemade. Whatever you have done or changed, has made it terrible & bitter and tasteless. Is this New Management? or a bad batch of lemons?
