I have made soft, all butter frosted sugar cookies for thirty years using a recipe from the 1930s. I find using Land o'Lakes unsalted (and salted) butter produces the most consistent results. The taste is superior when I use Land 'o Lakes butter opposed to other brands. The cookies have a finer crumb, and when used in the butter cream frosting, the texture seems much finer.

This is my go-to butter for baking. It doesn't affect the flavor of what I make but it does give me the texture that I'm looking for. Pie crusts in particular are amazing when I use this butter.
Here we are ready for our annual tradition cookie baking and the first batch of our butter cookies were a complete disaster! What have you changed??? The unsalted butter we've trusted for many years has suddenly destroyed the taste and consistency of the cookies. The cookies did not hold shape, in fact they melted and the taste is sour. I will be returning the remaining 3 lbs of unsalted butter just purchased. We can't bring these cookies to holiday festivities! Hope you bring back the original recipe
