This screen protector lives up to the hype. The screen is clear and performance is excellent. In applying, I spent way too much time trying to clear the last bubbles when I should have just pulled off the protective cover. The underlying Alpha Glass did not have any bubbles.
I Love my OtterBox! I've been using OtterBoxes since I can remember. Once the case had broken my Otters sent me the replacement case free of charge, which was awesome. I couldn't thank them enough. I recently upgraded my phone to the galaxy S5 and had to order a brand new case, so of course I did it through my Otters. And to my pleasure the Otter Glass was readily available so my phone is completely protected. I'm looking forward to more colors and/or customization to the cases as well as future orders. wouldn't want to protect my phones any other way then my OtterBox. Thanks Again.
Easy and quick install. Great clarity and feel. Doesn't impede touchscreen sensitivity. Cleans and looks much better than any other laminate screen protector I've owned. Combined with my Symmetry case, I feel my phone is as protected as need be without being clunky.
The (Symmetry) case is absolutely perfect for my Samsung Galaxy S5 ! This is my second purchase from this company and the service is great, the product is in a class of its own (read: top notch) and the case has the perfect fit for the phone. Looks great and not too bulky. Highly recommended. I also purchased the Alpha Glass screen protector: again, superb product and as well highly recommended.
I have had the alpha glass on my phone for a couple of months. Cons: I found it quite difficult to apply and had to try a couple of times. Recently I noticed fluff and dust creeping under the screen. Pros: The glass feels great to use and is barely (if at all) visually noticeable. Today I dropped my phone and it landed flat, face down on some tiles and made an incredible 'thwack!' sound. When I picked it up, the alpha glass was shattered from top to bottom. But I peeled it off and the screen was fine. I use the alpha glass in conjunction with Otterbox Samsung S5 Symmetry case, which prevented the glass itself from coming into contact with the floor during impact. I know the glass is supposed to be shatter proof but better the replaceable glass than the actual screen!
I am pleasantly surprised with the amount of protection a glass screen offers. I am VERY clumsy and drop my phone on the regular, but so far so good! No scratches, no broken screen after at least 7 drops from at least 12". The privacy aspect is true to its word, you have to be looking at it almost straight on to see the screen, but doesn't completely block the view if you happen to look from a bit of an angle. My only complaint is that the screen protector does not cover the home button, camera, or speakers, and dirt and dust tend to get stuck in the grooves, but it's easy to clean. I also understand it would probably block some of the functions if it covered these areas, and the phone itself is supposedly water resistant...so we shall see how it fares with my two great danes and two horses! Overall I would recommend this product, just make sure it's straight when you apply it, as it doesn't like to come off and is not easily moved once stuck to your screen.
I bought this along with a Symmetry case for my S5. They pair together nicely offering a great level of protection without being too bulky. The glass, which is actually plastic (kind of misleading in the description, but no big deal) is well made and perfectly sized. My only complaint is it's not the simplest to install. I found that once I peeled off the protective layer covering the glass there were a few specs of dust or something on the protector. I had to use a lint roller to get if off because the side of the glass the goes on the screen itself is sticky and impossible to "clean." Also, the protector has to be placed exactly the first time around. It's virtually impossible to remove once it is attached without damaging it. The package the glass arrives in is actually the installation tool which helps to line everything up. But since the package is very flexible you just have to be careful to make sure it's right the first time.
I thought the plastic case it comes in which was intended to help you place the glass perfectly on your device would be of great use, I found it to actually be tougher to line up than not using it all. It took me about 6 tries over 2 days to get my glass put onto the phone. It's still slightly off centered, but I'm leaving it. Also, I would have liked if it was edge to edge, like how I have seen other protectors, but it is not. I assume it's to accommodate for the cases, but I doubt it really puts that much more thickness where a case would have an issue creating a tight seal. Maybe version 2 will be better to put on the phone and a tighter fit.
I was nervous about spending a larger amount on money on a protective screen...and I was even more nervous about putting it on myself. However, application was flawless (no air bubbles) and was easily executed. I have not dropped my phone or had any close calls since using the alpha glass. Hopefully it lives up to the hype when the inevitable happens. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase.
I don't think it should cost as much as it does, it provides good protection, however it has shown very small brush marks on the surface. I only use microfiber cloths and also have never dropped it or had anything drop against it. Only thing it slides in and against are my pant and jacket pockets. The Privacy glass is also annoying when it comes to auto screen brightness levels. It doesn't allow light into the sensor to adjust the levels when it needs too.
