This is a beautiful cabinet. Very satisfied with this purchase. This cabinet would look great in a shabby-chic themed room, in a coastal, beach themed room, or in a cottage themed room. It has the "pottery barn" look without the expensive price. One con is the "cardboard" type back piece, but no one will ever look back there, and for the price I can't complain. Similiar cabinets in the furniture stores were selling for six hundred dollars and up. Another reviewer stated that their cabinet was white, exactly as pictured. There must be some inconsistancies in the paint process, because my cabinet was not as white as the one pictured. I have other white furniture in the same room as this cabinet, and this cabinet is cream-colored compared to my other furniture, and compared to the picture above. Very well-built, I expect it will last many years.
This armoire (and matching headboard) were purchased for a guest bedroom. The armoire is very solid and spacious. It will be used for guests to store clothing and it has good hanging space and two large drawers. The actual color is darker than pictured, a very dark ivory, but it looks good with white woodwork and yellow walls of the room. It was not difficult to assemble as long as the directions are followed EXACTLY as written. It took about five hours to put together, all the parts and pieces were included and everything fit together very nicely. It is an attractive piece of furniture and we are pleased with the purchase.
I just order the amorie and nite table sunday nite,,it came today and is all put together,,tonite,,its so solid and beautiful,,cream colored,,not white and very chabby chic,,,i needed a closet for summer clothers and this is perfect,,i live in a cottage,,,my son put this together in 4 hours,,,,just follow directions,,,,they did a fantastic planning for these pieces,,,,absolutely love them,,,,,thanks walmarts,,,the price was fantastic too,,compared to other places who want so much more for same thing,,im 80,,this perfect,,,,,
I am pleasantly surprised by this armoire. I turned our 4th bedroom into a "closet room" for me and this is perfect. I think it is excellent for such as reasonable price. Very pleased. Put it together by myself. Took about 3 hours but the directions were very good in fact the directions were some of the best I have ever dealt with.
I was looking for an armoire for my daughter's bedroom, and did a lot of shopping around. Walmart had the best price {as usual}. Read all the reviews and decided to go with it. Boy,,,am I glad I did!! This piece is lovely! Perfect size ,color, and style. It arrived in two large boxes,ahead of schedule, and it took my husband a good part of the afternoon to build it. It went VERY smoothly, as the directions were easy to follow, and all the pieces were marked and numbered. I didn't hear any cursing or swearing from him, AT ALL. He is making shelves to insert, as we didn't want it for a TV. Storage for clothing. Very easy. I am so pleased with this piece that I am going to purchase the dresser that matches this. Perfect for a cottage, shabby chic style. If you are on the fence, don't worry. I think you will love this. Very sturdy as well. Oh...and the color is NOT white....it is a distressed cream antique color. Really nice.
Needed a amoire to match some existing furniture in a room. Great size and very solid.
We were looking for an armoire for our hallway to match our cottage-style decor and this fit the bill without breaking the bank. Spacious inside for lots of coats/clothing. It's simple and clean with a nice aged appearance. The only drawback is that the screws for the knobs on the bottom were a little short and so the knobs were loose--no big deal, just replaced for some longer ones and it works just fine now. Also, the hinges on the front are not white, so they are more visible than what I would like. Overall, an excellent piece for a great price.
I brought this piece to have extra storage in my bedroom. The armoire came in a good time frame and was well packaged. This piece is heavy and huge. If you can have a friend or family member who can help you assemble it i would suggest you go that route. I assembled it myself and it took two separate nights for me to finish it. My one complaint is the bar that you can hang clothes on isn't substantial. I hung my collared shirts that I wear the most on it as not to bow the bar. I would suggest wood glue and gorilla to reinforce the drawers and backing piece. I would suggest reading the instructions first and watching Sauder's video to familiarize yourself with the process of assembling the piece. I would also suggest spreading the assembly over a couple of days and making sure you have plenty of room to spread out;you'll need it! I would lift the piece out of the prone position and put the back on while it's standing. Finally I would assemble this in the room you're going to use it in because this thing is impossible to move once it's assembled especially if your alone.
A few things to keep in mind when buying Sauder furniture; assembly, finish of laminate, and ability to repaint. The armoire comes in two very large and heavy boxes, finished product is exactly what it looks like in picture. They do not mention anywhere that it is "distressed" so it is not antique white it is distressed antique white which means its cream color and has faux wood grain showing through in random places. Because the product has a laminate finish it is nearly impossilbe to paint...it can be done if you have lots of free time and a place to lay all the pieces out to paint!
I bought this armoire for my daughter's bedroom - it was the perfect fit with the furniture I had. I paid $150 to a professional to put this together. After it was all done, we noticed that the doors didn't close, so we started inspecting what's going on and realized that the left panel was not flat but curved. Due to this curvature the doors didn't close at all. We then invited another professional to help fix it. She tried for over two hours with various hinges, taking doors off and reattaching them, but nothing worked. The result you see if the armoire in the picture. I contacted Walmart customer service for a refund. They asked me to ship it back to the manufacturer in the original flat form packaging. Makes the most logical sense for an armoire, right? Super frustrated with Walmart and their handling of this situation.
