I'm a woman and not young, but I was able to put it together by myself very easily. It took a few hours, but the directions were easy to follow and the pieces fit together nicely. I took my time, followed the directions and I have to say: Its really beautiful! My husband is super impressed and is using it for himself! The only bit of advice I would give is do not use the 8 screws that come for the wooden knobs. They are the wrong type and they're too long. Get 8-10 sheet metal screws #8x1-1/4 in. , and if you really want to do it right, get a pkg of #10 lock washers.
We bought this storage unit to match with our nursery furniture, which is by Delta. Unfortunately, Delta did not have a storage unit that matched the dark brown. My twins are due any day now and we were hoping to have the nursery complete before they arrive. However, as my husband is putting together the storage unit, he notices that there are screws missing and some replaced with smaller screws, which will not work. Now he has to go shopping for the proper size screws. Although, this is a small problem, it causes an inconvenience. If we purchase a product that has to be put together, we should be able to trust that all the necessary parts are included. We also noticed that one side of the wood paint is already peeling. But I guess you can't expect much quality for the price. The low rating is for the inconvenience of missing screws and the quality of the wood. We haven't completed the unit yet, so don't know how well the unit will turn out in the end.
Drawers started falling apart within a few months of having it. Barely holds any amount of weight in drawers and I'm currently looking for a new drawer for my daughter. Very disappointed at the amount of money spent and quality of product.
This is a terrible product! Within a few months pieces began falling off, and the white overlay started peeling in places that have never even been touched. The drawers are flimsy and fall apart under the smallest amount of weight. DO NOT BUY. It is a complete waste of money.
