this Adhesive Sealant is great
get stuff for under water on boats
This stuff is amazing but thick so it takes a while to apply but we'll worth it. It might be worth it to get an electric caulk gun if you have a lot to do.
I used it to seal the strut and tracking fin to my ski boat. I haven't taken the boat into the water yet but as far as I can tell the sealant cured great and is gonna work fine. The thing that worried me, is that the package states it must be used within 24 hrs of breaking the metal seal. I haven't tried to use any of it beyond 24 hrs so even though I capped the tube and put it in a ziplock bag I don't know if the resf if the tube cured and is no longer usable. Tried this after reading some great reviews in various dingy forums re: transom repairs, specifically reattaching the PVC flooring where it meets the transom. PVC giue won't stick to wood, but hypalon glue will, yadda yadda yadda. Tried it, didn't work like previous PVC repairs. Enter the 5200. Not only did it stick the PVC fabric to the wood but it held like iron, and I have enjoyed many many hours in a boat that was destined for the nearest dumpster box.
A bit dinged up, but they did the job. The actual product is stellar for the right applications. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The 5200 is great stuff however the way it was shipped in a box with no packing the metal tubes got all bent up. So get a clue how to send things so they are able to be used.
Tube received dented and bottom end beat up enough I had to fiddle with it to get the plunger from my gun to go into the tube. Plastic nozzle end also bent over.
Ordered 15 tubes of caulking. at least 1/3 of them were dented and four of them were missing the screw-on top. I am concerned that these may be old product because of the tube condition and hope the contents are still good.
Bought this product figuring it formed a solid compound when cured. Bumps over screws remained "springy" after cure. Definitely not Shore A 60 hardness. "Autopsied" one of the bumps and it was full of air pockets. Evidently the product outgasses as it cures and traps the gas under the surface skin. My goal was a solid compound like cured silicone caulking, not a tough skinned sponge.
