I use the shrink plastic every winter and it definitely makes a difference! I have 2 windows 62" x 62" facing the river and they're not sealed the best. You can literally see the blinds sway when the wind is blowing. Once I install this plastic there's absolutely no more cold air blowing in %26 it stays put all winter. It doesn't hinder your view either. I still can see the river %26 watch the eagles perch atop the tall pines as they wait to snatch up their next meal from the water! i definitely recommend

This is the second year I have used this brand to keep drafts and cold air from coming through my apartment windows. It is by far the best product, as well as the easiest to apply, that I have ever used. Will buy next year too.
I've relied on 3M Outdoor Window kits year after year on all our lower windows. They never fail to withstand Winter's worst winds and sub zero temps. Don't bother with other brands, they don't compare.
I have tried the other knock off products and it's just a mess. The tape either doesn't stick or will never come off! I learned my lesson - will only use this brand.
It was supposed to be ourdoor window insulator kit, but it turned out to be window screen.

3M, you must have been in a hurry to get this product to market. The box and the instructions do no favor to the fact that the window film IS heat shrinkable however it is mentioned on-line in your product description but not on the box or in the instructions. On the package you do indicate the product should be applied at temperatures above 50 degrees. Today the outside temperature was 52 degrees and the product installed with no trouble. Your strongest competitor states on their outdoor product it can be applied at temperatures above 32 degrees. Which product would you purchase on a cold day if you were comparing products in the store? I hope the product is better than the marketing team who took it to market. I have come to expect a lot of 3M over the years.
After spending 30 minutes trying to get the wrinkles out I gave up. Not the way to go.
We have used this product for years and always liked it. It seems to have changed however. The paper backing will not come off of the tape and the tape does not stick to the window frame as well as it used to. Sealing the plastic with a hair dryer took at least 3 times longer than previous years and I can't get it as flat and "invisible" as I used to be able to. Something has changed and it is NOT for the better.
