Let's be honest, what you want in a shredder is that munches the crap out of stuff and it produces tiny confetti. The window into the bin in the picture for this shredder is totally wrong. They show "cross-cut" remains. This thing is a true "micro" shredder. There is no piecing anything back together. The one pleasant surprise with this shredder is how frigging quiet it is. The paper crinkling into the shredder is loader than the shredder itself.
It is the best and quietest shredder I have ever had! It really shreds the paper into tiny pieces and has a 5 gallon slide out drawer which is very easy to empty. Make sure you use the oil after each use. Great shredder, I highly recomend it for business or home personal use. So glad I bought this one! You won't be disappointed. I love it!
This shredder works great! After having a Pen Gear one that started messing up within a month after purchasing it, it is a delight to finally have a shredder that works. I love the micro-cut function and that it is so quiet. This is a definite one to purchase if you need a small home office shredder.
I have owned a Fellowes shredder in the past, and this was a replacement after 10+ years. This was an upgrade from my previous unit. I'm happy with the higher amp motor, larger pull-out basket, along with the micro shredder feature. The previous reviews from others helped me in my decision making process along with web research. I couldn't be happier.
I like everything about this power shredder. It is quieter than my old one. It takes in more sheets of paper though I don't overload it. I do have to empty it more often, but that is not a problem as I have a lot of shredding to catch up on. I love the fact that it came with the wheels already attached. The shipping was on time and excellent and I know fellows gives great customer service, if you have any question (as experienced with my previous one) Highly recommended!
Exceeds Expectations. The shipping time was excellent. The Unit itself is Easy to take from the box to its first use. I had documents waiting for this Shredder to arrive. This unit is so quiet and easily handled the task I had waiting for it. SOOOO quiet, is it really working? YES IT IS!!!. I think this will last as long as my other Fellows did. YEARS and Years. The purchase price could not be beaten. Good JOB Wal-Mart, you have come through for me AGAIN :) :) :) Great cross cutter, talk about tiny pieces, smaller than confetti it seems. The bin will be able to store so much more than my previous non-cross cutter shreadder.
I must admit I love this thing. My big stack of cardboard shipping boxes is slowly becoming a nice mulch and lots of it! It somehow cuts the cardboard into tiny squares. It also does sheets of typing paper and it loves junk mail!
I shred everything from bank statements to junk mail - anything with a name on it - so any would-be dumpster divers won't get anything useful from my trash. My old 6-sheet micro cut shredder is finally wearing out after nearly 14 years of heavy household use - it's ripping as much as cutting the papers I feed in - so I purchased this Fellowes 62MC 10-sheet shredder. It's about the same size as my old shredder but weighs about 4 pounds more, most of that weight in the removable power head. I keep the shredder in my kitchen under the toaster oven cabinet so it's out of the way, but the casters make it easy to pull out for my everyday shredding. It's quieter than the old one, shreds to about the same size as the old one used to, and will do 10 sheets at a time. (The old one struggles with 3 - and the shredding is raggedy.) This Fellowes doesn't seem to provide for cutting up CD's like my old shredder - admittedly, a rarely used function - but otherwise, it seems to be a step up.
The bin is smaller than my previous shredder but it is very quiet. It has a locking feature which is hard to move but is a good thing in a household with small children. It can't be accidentally turned on. What I don't like about the shredder is that the slot is toward the back so when you pull out the bin because it's full, quite a bit of shredded material falls down the back into the bottom of the shredder and it will need to be cleaned up before putting the bin back. It would make more sense to have the shredding slot toward the front so the material can be pushed down as the bin is removed.
