The unit worked well for the first couple of months but then stopped dehumidifying and eventually wouldn't turn on. We have had this dehumidifier for less than a year and have already had both the fan and the motor replaced. When we went to the repair shop to pick our unit up, there was another unit that was exactly the same that needed to be repaired as well. Make sure you keep your receipt if you buy this unit because chances are that you'll need to get it fixed under the warranty (which requires that you have the receipt).
I don't recommend this machine if you must be in the same area were it is running, it has a lot of metel rattle, I aslo found that it is very energy hungry, not as effective as stated. would not buy. I returned it to the store after 1 week of running.
I echo the reports written. Had the product for 18 months now it runs but no water taken out of the air. Would NOT recommed buying this item !
i had this dehumidifier in my basement. It work for several months (long enough for the warranty to expire) and now it does nothing. It turns itself on and off trying to reset and never engages. I would no recommend this product to anyone.
I had this product for one summer in the basement. I stored it in September and got it out this summer to use it. It stopped working then. I kept it on for a week with low humidity setting and the water bucket is empty. I just used it for only 3 months and the warranty period is over by this summer. I do not recommend this GoldStar product.
