I bought this item because the regular 25mm that comes with the Ameda pump was too big on me and my nipples were often sore and in pain. Ever since I began using these size flanges my nipples have not been hurting or getting sore. They are the perfect size for my nipples.
I bought this item because the 25 mm flange was too big for my breasts/areolas. As other reviewers stated this product is poorly designed because it does not attach to the flange in any way. I also purchased the Ameda 17212 Flexishield areola stimulator and it works much better for me. I recommend buying the areola simulator instead.
When these arrived they came in a padded envelope that was open because it wasn't even sealed by the company, only by a shipping sticker. The product inside wasn't in any branded or sealed packaging, just loosely thrown in there... Are they even Ameda? Where they used before? Who knows.
I was having problems with my pump fitting me all the time so I purchased these. There is no way to attach them to flanges so they slip in and out causing you have very little suction and therefore no milk production. After spending a ton of money on an Ameda pump I broke down and I finally went and bought a Medela pump and they are wonderful.
These do not help. They sit poorly inside the regular flange and therefore allow air to pass between the two which leads to very poor suction. I tried using them twice to see if I could possibly get better suction the second time and it was still a flop. It took twice as long to pump just a small amount, even at a High suction & speed... Waste of money! Very disappointed.
