I like it because I need it to make people safe on the road and even to show the proof from dash cams to the police for who is at fault or accident scams for money to take and even to name it all so must have it at all time to be sure its safe

Worth it

I work gor am insurance company snd spending $400 for a quality dash cam will probably be less then youre deductible. With no ine wanting to be at fsult gor the accident, the other party can lie, but a recording of the accident wont snd could save you a lot of money.

Great for all, not for nobody

I bought this camera because it had a high quality lens with polarizing filter that took 4K video. I also liked that I did not have to talk to it, it did not have to talk to me, it did not have to use my phone to work properly and essentially you can keep this high quality image without all the high tech stuff. I installed the camera between my mirror and windshield and I cannot even see it. The screen turns off as I go along and I never think about it. If I do need a video from it I simply remove the camera from the secure magnet mount and grab the memory card. On the computer I work out what video I need and then copy it to the hard drive. Then put the memory card back, reinstall camera and forget about it. You can talk to this thing via Alexa but I felt having imaginary friends should be left to children and is not for me. You can do stuff via an app on your phone that probably requires frequent updates and blah blah blah. I did not care about this either and have not bothered to try it. Image stabilization is spot on. Driving on bumpy roads is a kick as the video shows the hood of the car rocking out but the video stays really still! Reading number plates is also very easy as when you pause the video on your computer it is as nice as a still picture from cell phone. If you want the tech overlords handing some function to your camera this is a good one. If all you want is a top notch picture where you can keep it simple, this camera is perfect.

Top Quality Dash Cam!

Coming from lower quality dash cams, this is the first Nextbase that I have owned, and it's easy to see the advantages over your typical cam. First off, the 4K picture is amazing! When I watch back the video if feels as if I'm in my car. And it's not just having a great picture, but makes it easy to see every little detail on the road. Max resolution is 4K and 30 FPS, and the setting goes down to 1080 and 120 FPS. Feature wise it's got everything, including WIFI to talk to your phone, image stabilization, night vision, good sized 3 inch IPS touchscreen (good for angle viewing). Although I didn't, you can also buy attachments to add a cabin or review camera. A good feature if your kids are driving your car and want to spy, I mean keep an eye on them. Key items included in the box are a click and go windshield mount, a suction mount, a USB connector cable, a power adapter for your car cigarette lighter connector (at least we used to call it that), and a ~3 inch power cord holder. Setting up is pretty simple. The included instructions guide you through the process in a clear step by step fashion. Insert the SD card, charge the unit and follow the on screen setup. There is also an app to install which helps to set up the dashcam. The instructions have a 2D barcode to scan to get to the app, but that just took me to the Nextbase homepage. Had to page through to find the app, but no big deal. To install on your windshield just remove the adhesive on the mount and secure. And then installing and removing the dashcam is a breeze. Using the click and go mount, a magnet secures the dashcam to the mount and easily removes…nice feature when you're parked in not the best area. Why I like this…great video and audio, which is really the purpose of a dashcam. All the other features are nice adds. The 622GW is on the higher cost side, but If you're looking for a high end, top quality dashcam, I'd recommend the 622GW!

Easy Operation and Great Picture

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dashcam works well, great picture and easy to understand controls and options. I thought routing the cable was going to be much worse than it actually turned out to be, but they included a little plastic tool to help get everything tucked away nicely. I wish the power cable had been about a foot longer, but that really will be dependant on your vehicle and where you need to plug in. I haven't tried the permanent windshield mount yet, as I may be buying a new car soon, but the included suction mount option is ok. It falls off the window without fail every night, but putting it back up is easy. The software for the computer isn't great, but adequate. Updating the firmware was not as easy as it could be, as it looks like that option should just work in the interface when the camera is plugged in. It does nothing, so let me save you some trouble: Format the SD card in the camera, download the firmware update, extract the firmware update from the compressed file. You will have two files at this point. Copy these files on to the SD card and power cycle the camera. It will restart a couple of times, but its fast and easy. The picture recorded by the camera is really good, very clear and smooth. Playback is easy, and the built in Alexa compatibility is useful. Good camera, just needs better instructions.

No SD card included

This particular model Came packaged well. However I gave it only a 4 because the camera does not come with an SD card. This was a gift so my son was not able to use it until he purchased an SD card. An added expense to an already pricey piece of equipment.

The Picture Quality is Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this dash camera for about a month now and overall, I am happy with it. It was easy to install and the picture quality is very clear. I leave it plugged in so it starts and stops when the car is on or off and there is a feature to record while parked. I have had a couple of times where it freezes, but it comes back.
