This is actually coconut oil despite what the title says! :) I searched a long time for good unrefined coconut oil I could use on my daughter for diaper rashes and to make cloth wipes solution out of. In our area it's difficult to find something like this without paying an arm and a leg for it. Coconut oil works wonders on any type of rash, but is great to use if you're cloth diapering because it won't clog up the diaper, and this did the trick! It smells heavenly, and it's glides onto the skin very nicely. I was concerned that in the wipes solution it would re-solidify in the sprayer bottle we use, but it hasnt yet. There are pieces of it that are solid again, sure, but it still breaks back down and sprays out just as nicely! The recipe we use is: 2c hot distilled water, 1/4 c coconut oil, 2 drops tea tree oil, and 1tblsp dr bronners baby mild castile soap.
Product is great, but when it arrived in the mail the oil leaked all over the package. It was a mess, I had to put it in a new container. Caution when shipping and better shipping packaging needed.
I have only used it twice and it seemed to help clear up my complexion and moisturize my hair. It only takes a little bit to rub in hands and it melts quickly. It does need to be stored in the refridgerator, but worth the trouble of keeping it in there.
We are in our 70s and you know the condition of our skin by now. We use coconut oil like lotion after a shower and it leaves the body feeling so good.
This coconut oil is amazing. I use it as a deep condtioner on the ends of my hair, deep moisturizing treatment for my face(I have dry skin), & also on my lips at night, & as an eyelash moisturizer/enhancer...& the smell...OMGOSH! I just wanna eat it! Alot of product for a little money, and it goes a very long way!
Good product but bad to ship. Despite Walmart's efforts to put shipping sealant around the lid to keep it from leaking, it still leaked. It was a bit of an oily mess. I would recommend buying it from a store instead of having it shipped.
When this arrived, it had leaked into the shipping box so the container was not full. I was afraid to use it for cooking since the inner seal was broken so I decided to use it on my skin. I have only been using it a couple of days but am very pleased with how soft it makes my skin. It takes very little and the oily feeling disappears within a few minutes. It's like my skin soaks it up. It smells good like coconuts but it is a very mild scent. I plan on buying another container to try for cooking...
The coconut oil by Spring Valley was as good as any I have bought. The Walmart shipping is something else to be desired. When my shippment arrived everything was leaking and soaked throught the shipping box. The product was contained inside a bubble bag. The bubble bag did not contain the product. To do over I will buy in the store. The reason I had it shipped this time was that the store was out.
I opened the package to find that about 1/3 of the oil had leaked out of the container. It was a greasy mess! Product may be good, but I won't be ordering online online again since it apparently doesn't ship well. $ wasted :(
My problem with this product was how it was shipped from Walmart. It was shipped in a flimsy envelope so when I got the coconut oil it was greasy on the outside of the container. I paid $5 for shipping and it would have been much better to ship it in a box.
