I bought this when my daughter was congested from seasonal allergies. I didn't notice much of a difference. I couldn't even smell anything unless I smelled the pad directly. The light is a nice bright blue and you can rotate the plug in down to face the floor if it's too bright. I had read about the PediCare brand vapor plug and it had great reviews but is no longer available. Apparently this one isn't the same. I'd say save your money and try something else.
