Very good product for the intestinal tract. It mixes good in a protein drink.
I have intestinal problems and leaky gut for some time. I was put on L-Glutamine a few years ago. I really like the Source Naturals brand; it is less expensive than some of the others, and the product doesn't have unnecessary additives. It is easy to mix with water, and has a nice taste.
I trust Source Naturals. This is a good version of L-Glutamine. The quality appears to be high, the taste is mild (as it should be). It helps me recover from exercise.
I was recommended this by my nutritionist (l glutamine powder form) while I was nursing my baby, and she explained that it helps seal the gut (the intestines) so that only nutrients can go to my bloodstream and from there to the milk. the taste is good mixed with tea or coffee. You don't notice half a spoon, but full spoon, you start noticing the taste in a small tea cup.
Although most people think of L-Glutamine as a supplement for athletes and body-builders, it also has a cumulative soothing effect on certain gastric problems such as GERD and IBS. Someone told me about this when I was searching for a natural remedy for these problems and I discovered that it really does work. This powder form is less expensive than the capsules and one jar goes a long way.
We have found L Glutamine to be a tremendous help in fighting off some of the side effects of chemotherapy. I fully expect this product to soon be part of the overall chemo package
I use this regularly, for IBS. I also like this brand the best. Can't be without it. It clams my digestive system.
I bought it to help my Crohn's and it didn't really help, but I am leaving a high rating because it did seem to be a better quality than other brands that I tried. For instance, when dissolved in water, it dissolved better.
Oncologist indicated L-Glutamine might alleviate foot & hand neuropathy. Took for one week & seemed to have less occurrences of the foot & hand pain.
This glutamine is not USP/Pharma grade. I send e-mail to SourceNaturals and they told me that this glutamine is made from corn, not bacterial fermentation... Actually this glutamine dissolves very well and work great but is not pharma purity and I give 3 stars
