This brand works as advertised… I live in Arizona and purchased a unit and put it in the living room of a mobile home. It gets very hot here but this unit has the ability to cool a 500 square-foot area to the mid 70s and 80 when we hit 115 or above…(it's a dry heat) tried to purchase a second unit but everyone was sold out this summer. Will definitely purchase two more units and save between 7000 and $10,000 instead of a heat pump. This product is the real deal. Highly recommended For extreme heat areas
We use this unit to cool the house in the summer and heat the house when temperatures are 45° or so. I'm surprised how well it heats our family room and kitchen area. We like the product so much we bought a second a few months later. I modified the window unit because our windows are so large. Notice I added a stand so that the water can drain into a bucket. My only complaint is that is a bit challenging to install the flexible vent pipes.
Bought because my HOA after 4 years decided they didn't like my seasonal window AC. Cools the large master bedroom nicely. I paid about $450 and it came from Wayfair actually. No shipping no tax. Deal. Only minor gripe I have is the are where the air comes out blows mainly to one side even when you adjust the directional slider which doesn't seem to do much. Other than that it does what it's supposed to. Cools efficiently.
Bought this about two months ago in the highest heat of the North Carolina summer. It cools our 400 sq. ft room with no problem. The vent points upward, so we turn on our ceiling fan (mid-level speed) and it spreads the cool air right over our seating area below. Even if we turned on the AC at the end of a hot day (when the heat index had hit 105 degrees), it would quickly lower the temp in the room to a tolerable level. Can't wait to use the heater feature this winter.
Bought the ARC-14S about 2 months ago after extensive research and review reading. We wanted/needed something for our oversized 3 car garage and have been extremely pleased with this unit. We took the advice mentioned in several of the reviews, wrap/insulate the exhaust hose, made our own window outlet out of 3/4 inch plywood, separated the input and exhaust hoses further and insulated the wood/window where the hoses are. Works great and keeps our huge garage very comfortable. We like the features it has and we've never had an issue with the drainage. We have it set at 79 and it's made just a minor increase in our electric bill.
This unit has been able to cool our large master suite quickly and very well. It was easy to install and we haven't run into issues yet. The only concern I will mention is that it is not very quiet but it's on par with most window units I have used. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
June was hottest June in New Mexico since 60s we were told. We have 18 foot ceilings in our living room -- the AC was easy to install and we use it almost every day. We may buy a smaller one for the bedrooms but for now it cools us and is quik about doing so if we've had it off for awhile.
Cools the entire upstairs of my home well. The exhaust hoses could be another 3 feet longer is my only comment.
So far the machine works good. It does a good job keeping the living room, dining room and kitchen cool.
Does not come with appropriate mounting hardware, disappointing given the price. I now need to either cut the window slide bars to a more correct size or get different ones from the company that makes this unit. As well i will need to get some form of sealing insulation for the window this needs to be installed in as it doesn't come with any, which allows the outside air to bleed into the room constantly. For the price i again think this is an rather large oversight. Shop elsewhere, or be prepared to have to make a trip to a hardware store to fix what *should* be included with the unit but isnt.
