This device makes it possible for me to use a regular bathtub. Take time to get it level or, if you choose, let the back be slightly lower than the front so you don't get a feeling of sliding off. I back up to it with my mobility scooter, put first my right foot over the edge of the tub, followed by my left leg. It's wonderful.
This has been a complete Game Changer for assisting my 85 year old Father shower and feel Human again! Thank you sooooo much!
I feel so much safer with this chair. I don't have to try to step over the tub to get in the shower chair. No more worries about slipping and falling and my helper doesn't have to worry about hurting herself trying to keep me balanced while getting in the shower. This has truly made my life better.
Best chair for the money. Compact, adjustable, suction cups hold it steady. I would recommend it.
We find this item very usable. We wished we were told about the total width of the Bench and the fact this part is not adjustable. This is surely needed due to the angle of the legs that stick out past the width of the top area of service making the side of the Bench in the tub it too far away from the back wall due to the leg angle and large rubberized feet. Not complaining here for sure just some other feature's we feel are needed to make this item more usable. Over-all, this Bench has definitely helped in making it easier to enter the tub/shower along with the several hand rails we purchased from Wall-Mart of which we are very pleased with our entire order under-taking...Thank You.
Purchased to use with 86 year old mom who broke her arm and was not mobile. Worked great to get her into the tub. We first tried a chair where she had to slide. Didn't work. This one does the sliding. Very easy to use and sturdy. Virtually no assembly.
The overall product is ok. I'm not sure it's strong enough to hold let alone move thick people. The lever to move the seat is right in the middle of the person's legs which makes it a bit difficult and uncomfortable for the caregiver to move. In my opinion it should have been placed in the back unless the person is able to move around on their own. The lowest position is still a little high for people 5' tall. I had to contact the company's customer service and was 100% satisfied with it.
Assembly was easy and fast. Product worked well and was sturdy. I had to return it to an area store though. The seat was so wide that it didn't allow your entire 'bottom' and body to be centered in the tub. No way to pull shower curtain to keep shower spray inside the tub.
I am a t12 paraplegic. I bought the sliding chair so I could take a bath by myself without any assistance. I love the chair except for 1 thing. The lever to move the chair from one side of the bench to the other is positioned under the seat. I am only 5'4" tall and it is hard for me to reach under the seat to lift the red seat lever to pull it up to move the seat to the other side of the bench. If the lever was relocated to the side of the seat instead of under the seat, it would be better for me to maneuver. Other than that, the seat is wide enough, and moves easily once the lever is up.
The chair is incompatible with a person being 5 or shorter. Secondly due to the design of the tub to the level of the floor the chair didn't sit level. Third problem the chair usage does not work with only a shower curtain to keep water from hitting the floor. Which naturally is a hazard. Forth problem even being brand new the chair is non returnable non refundable. However on Amazon their site does show it as RETURNABLE. Buyer Be Fully Aware
