So far, so good. The Drive Viper Plus is very sturdy and yet, according to those you load the wheelchair in the car for me, it's lighter weight than my previous chair which was a different make. In my case, I prefer not to use the leg rests and use “foot power” to walk myself around the house in the wheelchair and also using arm power while rolling on carpet. I really, really like how smoothly this chair rolls and it's working very well for me. This time I made sure to get the full arms rather than the desk arms and I like them better. I would not change any of the features that this model has. I think they've pretty much thought of everything to make a wheelchair comfortable for those of us who are elderly and have reached a point of having to rely on wheelchairs for various reasons. Getting old isn't for sissies!
We love everything about this wheelchair....good construction and features, low price and best of all...it's very lightweight. Walmart also shipped to us within 3 days. Would recommend this product to everybody!!!
Exceptional quality. Has every feature in a wheelchair that you could want. My wife loves it. At 33 lbs it's lighter than all but the titanium chairs costing more than a thousand dollars. Drive Medical engineers and manufactures the best products.
I feel the listed weight is not accurate. The seat height is really low while the arm rests height are really high. Therefore, it is difficult to row. The back setting is very far back and it is the closest setting possible. Its just not a comfortable wheelchair for me and I have buyer's remorse at this point. I'm 5'2", so maybe this would work for someone taller. The handbrakes are stiff and painful to set. The leg rests can only be adjusted with tools. I wasnt planning on carrying tools with me for all occasions. My injury is ruptured ligaments in the ankle. I have to keep my ankle elevated at all times to prevent swelling, and I'm in the chair about 10 hours a day. I was going for comfort and ease. I wanted a Cadillac and got the economy style. The cool thing is the wheels detach for ease. I'm frustrated and headed to craigslist for an alternative.
I really wanted a transport chair - not a wheelchair. Too bulky; too uncomfortable for me.
